Why? Will you be sending me your bike to remove your headset and BB?
Which of course is a great idea and will be well received. |
Or he's just curious what it will cost him.
|
My labor rate is $65/hour. On a typical bike, this stuff would take me 15-20 minutes. Maybe a half hour if the BB is being moody. On your bike, however, it would take at least 4 hours.
$260 |
The 25 lb wheels need to be removed in order to service the bike = extra 3.5 hours.
|
Precisely.
|
Take it to your bike co-op, it'd probably take you 20 minutes to get everything out.
No big deal. |
I'll do it for $255.

You guys are a bargain. As a consulting professional engineer, my labor rate is $175 / hr with a minimum charge of $600, and that's just to shake your hand. On a job this complex, I'd require at least 20 hours to carefully evaluate the situation, locate the proper tools and make sure they were all within spec, take copious photos of the as-is condition of the parts and frame, remove the parts and prepare a 50 page technical report on the work performed. Gotta pay the rent ya know.

OP, spend an hour and figure it out for yourself. Fixing your bike is almost as fun as riding it.
|
People pay other people to mess with their bike?
