HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!
Love hurts.
But dont take it out on bikes!
Hahahha!

oh the aero brake needs a circular recess behind the fork to mount.

nelly17 02-14-11 12:13 PM

Finally dialed in.

rumor confirmed. i'm going to commit to this: no new bike until summer.

until then i might just start buying parts for it though. i'm thinking carbon clinchers, cinelli drops, omniums... hit the track a couple times with the kilo and then build up a leader.

so, leader fork, or ec90...

about the new 735tr? where did you hear about this, what about the new 735 has got you so amped?

can they be mounted on the front? someone said they didnt have as much power as a dual pivot front, do you find this to be true?

the chainstays of aluminum leaders over the years makes me wonder if they even try to test them.

Scrodzilla 02-14-11 11:27 PM

Yeah, it's weird. At least they've got it right now!

ShaneRidesBikes 02-15-11 02:29 AM

Dude is riding a leader in this video and wearing one of the Scrod x Leader tees I believe

Scrodzilla 02-15-11 07:26 AM

He sure is!

jasonnc80 02-15-11 10:13 AM

The chainstays on my 721 (v2) seem perfect. The tire just touches if you push the wheel all the way forward in the dropouts, so about halfway there is about 1.5cm gap. I *thought* they were the same as the 725 minus the seattube.

+10. I'm lovin' my 721tr more and more. A lot cheaper that the 725 too. :D

TT the combo of that tiny saddle and enormous seat bag makes me cry.

Wipe away your tears. Since I wear a Camelbak, anyway, I can stuff the spare tubie, mini pump and peanut butter wrench in there instead.

Fantastic build. Hate the seatpost. I mean, it looks great on your bike, just I HATE those particular seatposts. So freakin' fidgety to adjust...

i pretty much got my part list done, but can't decide on cranks.

miche or omniums on a 722ts frame? are omniums too thick for this frame?

found this pic, and i think they work.

unless its a lugged frame (and even some lugged frames look good with them) i think the omniums look sweet on many bikes including the 722ts. though do you really need them? they are a bit overkill for just the street. i might go with the s300 1.1 cranks and save some cash for other parts. just some food for thought...

Neither, go for sugino 75's; the 722 was designed as more of a classic steel track frame. Sugino 75's in all its classical and bold styling and solid performance is the perfect match. Leave the omniums and miche for the carbon and aluminum aero track frames. You will not regret this decision.

xkillemallx16 02-24-11 08:44 PM

miche's look fine on steel frames imo, and its not exactly lugged so the omniums dont look too bad. but if you have the funds, i agree with happypills, by all means get the 75's.

liberalswine 02-24-11 09:31 PM

Damn ya'll are making me want a 722ts

Haha true. The classic steel is just so clean to me. I am seriously done with the aluminum aero, who wants to trade their steel frame for my 725tr? =P

dignandag 02-24-11 11:26 PM

yeah...75s are my first choice, but thought THOSE were overkill.

But they're the best looking and I would never need to upgrade. Hmmmmm...

Next question...anyone running 170's have pedal strike issues?

I've got 170s on mine. No issues with pedal strike and toe overlap is non-existent on these frames.

dignandag 02-25-11 08:41 AM

thanks for the feedback everyone!
