When I left for work this morning at 5:40, it was 9 degrees out. Saw a guy in jeans and a reasonably heavy jacket spinning along the icy roads upright with no hands, on his fixed gear with no lights or reflectors. Screw that.

That was me. I was on my way to buy beer. Sorry man.

I noticed we're the only ones that keep our beer next to our front door when we have company over. Instead of going to the fridge, my friends step outside and pull one out of the snow. I miss Australia.

As much as I hate the cold, I love being able to do that! Our back porch also doubles as a walk-in cooler in the winter.

Thanks to the miracle of narcotics, I can't really feel my face right now. (And I'm doing my government security clearance certification right now, while lit ;)) It's healing up well, but I can't go out in the cold - my nose basically turns into a block of very painful ice.

Yup. Cut down risers, mismatched rims with spoke card out back, and that distinctive cadence. I've seen him before. We don't have many fixed gear riders where I live.

Obvious bro has mastered zen of fixie gear riding. Really feel the road, snow and black ice included, while clenching NJS steel betwixt his 510-laden staunches. He hovers over any potential obstacles like an urban Jesus, performing miracles of barspinnnz and no-handsies skiddz for the non-believers. That spoke card is actually a pamphlet inscribed with the Word, tentatively awaiting passage to the newest disciple.

The other day, I tried on one 511 and one 510. Same size.

The 510 fit. The 511 I couldn't even zip up.

My mind was blown.

At the kohls i have they sell levis that have been defected and fixed for like 30 dollars.

But for some reason they are all a size messed up a 30 waist will be a 28.

I got real levis from the store that are waist 28 and i got the kohls fixed version and its a 30 but measured a 28,

Gads, I must be old. I'm so confused.

They're discussing skinny jeans. I wear shorts when I ride a bicycle. All my jeans are baggy and two inches extra at the waist and the inseam, which is perfect for riding a motorcycle.

maybe they were mislabeled or something, but that was the case. The ultra-skinny ones fit. The slightly less skinny ones were killing me. Almost ripped them trying to get them on.

People in the other fitting rooms must've had a laugh. I let out a very loud, honest "what the ****?!"
