Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? The Beloved Morton. Only $4200

But if you act now, you can get the Rapha version for only $5200.

Meanwhile, I want one of these frames for $350

Probably safe to say that anything Rapha is less bang for the buck unless the stuff actually gets you laid nightly.

I could go for the Poacher also. I'd sure like to see a build with rims shallower than 30mm and plain black (or skinwall) tires. Someone get some Open Pros in this thing!

I would say most conversions I see are pretty bad bang for the bike...they're fine if you're going to reuse most of the original parts but it seems like people end up just using the frame. My first fixed gear was a Panasonic Sport 1000 that I dumped too much money into...

WTF...$350 for a Poacher is a remarkable deal!

26.8 seatpost and 77mm BB drop is rather unfortunate though.

Dude in this thread says his Poacher took a 27.2 post. I like his build a little better than the two other completes I saw on the internet, but I think I'd go with a less crusty parts mix.

If you're gonna go big with a fancy EAI cog, go all the way:

Thing is, they are also more than twice the street price of Dura Ace cogs, which are totally excellent and very durable. I pay only $24 for Dura Ace cogs at World Class Cycles, and don't see any reason to pay more for something perhaps marginally better. It's the old case of the point of diminishing returns, where a major increase in cost yields only a marginal improvement in performance.

Not sure; but it was super high quality nonetheless, and it did in fact save my frame from dents when the bars swung and hit the frame unintentionally...

Hm... considering I live in the state of Virginia, something is wrong here, or my contineum transfuntioner has finally come to life and I'm in a brand new country that is located within the US borders.

Sorry - puma-bikes.com does not ship bikes to your current location.

We ship to countries within the US, Europe and Switzerland.

I must be missing something with the Sintesi. Some interesting translation from the Chinese (or whatever) on the site, but that's nothing new.

They look like Specialized knockoffs to me. Pumas on the otherhand are a little more recent design school graduate style.

EDIT: Oh, Y'all are strictly talking website gaffes. NM.
