I mostly just stick with a leather backpack now. DAMNKIDSSTOLEMYSCENE

Hahaha...I feel the same way. I have a huge chrome bag that I've had since 2004 that I use as carry-on luggage sometimes. I love it. The ergonomics are perfect.

Why'd you get a chrome in the first place?

They used to run tiny little print ads in the back of Rolling Stone (don't even get me started on how much RS blows these days), I thought they looked cool, and bought one. The majority of people I know that wear them at my school just wear them walking to class, which makes no sense.

My first bag was massive and red and like Carleton I took it everywhere, New Zealand, Germany, Austria, Ireland. I gave it to a friend and now have the smallest bag in black and use it occasionally when riding/if it's raining.

Newsflash: people do dumb ****.

Shouldering a Mash is pretty rough due to the inverted triangle shaped of the TT, but I carried mine 2 miles to the LBS once without once entertaining the idea of a TT pad.

I have a crappy car rack that pretty much took off all the paint in two spots of the TT on my last bike. I bought one for the times I take my bike on trips but I take it off before I ride b/c it looks dumb as ****.

Damn, I have a chrome bag i bought from sierra trading post like 6 years ago. I didnt know they were totally douchy now. i also got a giant industrial chain and lock because it was cheaper than buying a u lock and cable and probably just as safe. damn, i need to start paying attention

A classic example of the Japanese cockpit.

Whoomp, there it is.

Nice lips bro.

CJWIZVRDGVNG 11-03-11 05:11 PM

does the kagero have trickstar bars on it? :cringe:

eboston 11-03-11 05:39 PM

risers and trick bars ruin everything

+1

i love having risers on my ride most of my riding is around town but otherwise i have drops waiting for a new stem for them long rides

eboston 11-03-11 06:44 PM

narrow risers* fixed. if you ride with bars narrower than your shoulders I hate you and your left and right rocking motions.

jimmytango 11-03-11 07:22 PM

Doesn't having a set of risers, especially risers like that, negate any aero benefit gained by the reverse slope of the tt? I mean, it almost seems like a normal tt angle and a flat bar or horns would be the same.

redpear 11-03-11 08:11 PM

A reverse slope of the TT doesn't just give you a more aero position. In fact, I'd wager it's a secondary benefit. A downward sloping top tube makes the triangle bigger and theoretically stiffer. Also, it looks cool like 92 Cdale Track

seau grateau 11-03-11 11:26 PM

How would enlarging the triangle increases stiffness?

Scrodzilla 11-03-11 11:29 PM

It wouldn't. A smaller triangle would be stiffer.

jimmytango 11-03-11 11:30 PM

On a bike like that, I'm assuming the head tube is shortened compared to normal, because lengthening the seat tube would change the fitment. If my assumption is correct, you're actually making the triangle smaller.

Scrodzilla 11-05-11 08:24 AM

Yes, it's made of wood.

you could extend the seat tube all the way to the head of the seatpost and the only (and most meaningless) part if fit you would change is the standover height.

seau grateau 11-05-11 10:09 AM

Most wood bikes are totally jack. Some, however, are frickin beautiful.
