Nice choice of weaponry.

On another I must confess that I've once harassed a motorist before. It was during a left turn, in a large intersection, so there were 2 left turn lanes. I was in the lane before a civic si; the dumb blond cut me off during the turn and kept on honking. I let her pass by going dangerously into the middle between both lanes before my rear tire tasted her bumper. I flipped her off and she had the nerve to drive ahead then stop twice abruptly so I would have a sudden stop or crash into her. Too bad she sucked at road rage, and I managed to grab hold of the pathetic excuse for a spoiler on her SI while her SI. She basically freaked out and started yelling profanity out of her window, as she couldn't drive that fast as there was traffic ahead of her. I ended up keying her trunk and spoiler and loosening the spoiler by pulling on it with force. I still look for that blue SI these days.

Since we're talking about cars; have you ever seen the Hyundai Genesis' rear lights? The red just burns into your retinas at night..... especially when you're in your coffin at a red light.

But I am; I just treat people as they treat me; the way they want to be treated.

cc700 02-04-11 01:52 AM

in general i think hyundai needs to redesign most of their head and tail lights. more glare from them than most other cars, even if they just have halogen bulbs. when people put **** hid crap in hyundai lights, forget it.

and yeah, LED tails suck too if not designed properly. ****ahyundai. those things are pigs.

I have a bad habit of looking really good while I bike and listening to music really loud to the point where it would hinder my reaction time.

Retem 02-04-11 04:18 AM

good habits:
signaling, stopping to help strangers.

bad habits: cursing, cutting, smoking, yelling
playing chicken with wrong way riders.

vw addict 02-04-11 06:59 AM

I tend to drop the F bomb, a lot, and often. And I have been know to demolish a pint of Ben and Jerry's if you stick it in front of me. Oh yeah, the smoking. ****, I almost forgot about the smoking.

Cynikal 02-04-11 09:38 AM

A Ulock will make quick work of a honda's side mirrors. Just say'n.

That's my neighborhood, it's fairly easy to bike around because there are a lot of one way's... but that is a good clip from Portlandia. I just wish I had seen them filming it!

Maddox 02-04-11 12:30 PM

I have bad habit of spending time reading through pointless threads like this, and then spending more time trying to figure out a witty response.

rustybrown 02-04-11 12:31 PM

Caught up with a few Portlandia clips the other night. Oh, slices of life are abundant.

But yeah, bad habit---riding too far right, too often. Feels like the courteous thing to do, even though cars don't care.

Robofunc 02-04-11 12:38 PM

I think the worst thing I've done is texting while riding. It was on a sleepy residential road, but still--not a good idea.

I did this at 1AM, riding with friend.

He was yelling at me the whole time, telling me to stop, but I was just cruising, no hands, texting, and riding over speed bumps like i dgaf.

Dammit I second this haha

avner 02-04-11 04:54 PM

I rage, I've been in multiple situations where people have pulled ****/hit me/reacted very aggressively. Some have been my fault, others havent. I carry my U-lock in my chest strap If i suspect I have a chip on my shoulder. I carry too much ****, I always have my bag and its usually heavier then it needs to be, I'm pretty good about red lights.

other **** i'll just keep to myself :p

p.s I also use a word that rhymes with bunt often.

Still hilarious, even after watching it multiple times.

I push myself too hard at the beginning of the week so by the end of the week my legs are useless.. (work commute)

This is me, except I would substitute "week" with "ride."

I think it kinda has to do with the type of personality I have. I pace back and forth when I think. I naturally walk and talk fast. I'm constantly moving. I'm the guy who sits behind you in the lecture clicking his pen. I'm just kinda naturally high-strung.

Its not til I get to my destination (out of breath, of course) that I ask myself, "Why the hell did just sprint to the grocery store?"

I just have a terrible time pacing myself.
That's why I prefer riding with friends, that way they set a pace that's more comfortable and sustainable.

Of course the obvious solution is "HTFU"....but w/e.....

thisisbenji 02-04-11 08:14 PM

I tend to scream at dumb drivers, and ride way to fast/close past pedestrians.

I'm in an half second of Potlandia, they were filming some stuff at the water front. Then sent me a release form. Silly show, but fun still. Over the top, but on the nose all at once.

I also do my best to pass tons of cars on busy streets way too fast and through tight spaces. Though I stop at red lights when there are lots of folks around. But run then with caution when traffic is slim.

That's while on the cargo bike, Oh, and I shot birds that are put on things to make art!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No really, I have guns and don't care for bird art.

catonec 02-05-11 12:38 AM

I cruise bike forums while at work

I have that same problem, I can't seem to help it. Riding by myself is ruined by this a lot, I really need to fix it.
I get winded in short rides to class because i go full out the entire way.
