Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

My aunt goes to mass a lot, and it is central to her belief system. Don't think she can ride a fixie, though...

Nonsense, that's just an old fairytale, like Atlantis or Canada.

Help! I'm at work and all I can think about is riding. I want to leave and go for a ride downtown. Or maybe pull out the new old mtb I've only ridden like once since I got it last Friday--though I have already had to replace a tire and tube. Winter's coming and the only time I'll be able to spend any time offroading will be the weekends. Sure, I could get a nice offroad quality lighting kit, but the wife wouldn't have it.

Really, I just need to leave!

Bikes: I built the Bianchi track bike back up today.

Bummer bostontrevor. Sometimes I'm able to just cut work and ride. Last night wasn't one of those times.

I would just like to report for the assembled that I cut out early and spent a quick hour spinning downtown to clear my head. It was awesome. "An hour a day is all it takes to save this boy's life, won't you please give today?"

Tomorrow I hit up the Red Sox parade, go mtbing, and then Halloween party. Rock on.

Am home sitting on my couch in the Roscoe Village neighborhood of Chicago, IL, the United States of America, planet Earth, the Milky Way and beyond that they've left me ignorant thus far. Man I wish somebody could tell me more about the comos so I'd feel a little bit better in this damned country.
