Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

As an aside - why do people *love* giving thumbs up in photos? I've even done it myself - not sure what possesses one to do it...

HERE is your answer, provided by the beautiful people at the modern drunkard. Scroll through down at the bottom. The thumbs up is just another fine example of these old standards.

In the whole 5 years i only bought one pair that werent issued to me. Cut em that day. I never even had name tapes sewn on them. And that was about 8months before i got out. Kinda hard to explain to the people on base about your shorts. (marines are incredibly anal. cut off cammies are a no no)

Just kidding... maybe if I was hardcore enough to run brakeless....

I am not really that wierd, and I have since gone beardless (even though this was before I had the beard...)

I'm always the one taking the pictures, so i don't really have any nice pictures of myself, let alone on a bike.
