OT: unicycle?

Anyone have/tired one?

I'm really wanting to purchase one so i can try it.

They say that it takes 48 hours of practice to get it down some number.

I think its pretty interesting to ride a unicycle. I've seen someone in person jump 10 stairs with it....

Theres is a Redhead guy here who rides a 36" Uni, he can bunny hop/track stand? at stops. Its scary seeing him going over a bridge where he could literally fall over the edge. It sure looks like it takes some skill!!! He also has a type of time-trial bar attachment on the front of the seat. I'm sure anyone here has seen him once or twice. Hills**********
Good luck Mr. Evil

I've seen people commute on a unicycle... haven't dared myself to try however, although I've been offered the chance to do so numerous times at my fixed specific LBS.

I'm just gunna get one and try it. I'll talk to the local stunt unicyclist. He goes on the same hiking trails as me. He uses 2.4 inch tires!

Unicycle commuters are awesome.

There's a girl in my neighbourhood that commutes on 36" unicycle as well and she can track stand way better than I do...

I also like tall bike commuters...I've seen one or two.

Needing 48 hours of practice in order to ride longer distances than a few hundred meters is not exaggerated, I have some experience

My boss at the shop got gifted a uni as a joke, he actually learned to ride it pretty good. I tried a few times but it didn't interest me enough to keep trying. Kinda like nose manuals on the mtb.

I've unicycled for quite a while now, it's pretty fun although i haven't been on mine in a while. There is a unicycle equivalent for every practice of cycling so you can pretty much do whatever you want once you get it. I used to be big into the like street and trials riding. Being able to say you can grind on a unicycle is a pretty cool thing, haha. Most people get it in about 2 days of a couple hours of practice i'd say. And once you get that you abilities grow exponentially. After the first time you ride a block or so you'll prolly have simple straight riding down.

I'd say buy a cheap sun or torker lx from unicycle.com and go for it, they're pretty cheap and you can always step up to a nicer one once you figure out what you want to do.

Look up UNIGEEZER. He's a LA area local unicycle dude who makes a lot of videos. He has an account on BF and Midnightridazz and Youtube. err his videos name some shop in the general LA area that sells unicycles of all kinds.
