So I accidentally this frameset on eBay. I had the money, just expected others to bid on it. Thanks to Scrod for posting it in the sale thread. Also Scrod, did you hear about it from Leader? It came in a fresh Leader box from San Diego.

Anybody else have one of these? I struggled to find any info on the Google and BF.

Also, does the frameset really retail for $900? If so, I got a real killer deal for $236 shipped. The eBay listing said it was handmade for Colossi in Korea.

Not really gonna get to build this for awhile, so I have lots of time to hypothesize about wheels, crankset, etc.

dropouts are nice, the frame looks great. 236 is a spanking deal.

I figured it was a good deal, hence my bid. But couldn't believe that somebody didn't snipe it. I was in class when the auction ended.

There's a tiny chip on the down tube, probably 1-2mm. But I had to look hard to find it. I just noticed that tiny brown stain (it looks like rust but it doesn't feel like it) in the shot of the seatpost entry.

Anyway, yeah I'm psyched about it.

What's up with the seat tube lug/gusset? Kind of odd, maybe trick/track..? I haven't encountered any of these bikes. Might want to take a closer look at that crack in the track end.

Pretty rad frame. Will cost a lot to build up from scratch. But, at least it'll keep your mind active while stretching and recovering.

If it makes you feel any better there's a crack in the chrome on the drive side dropout on my Pinarello. I've been rollin' it for 10 years with no problems. Definitely keep an eye on it, though.

I'll be your dummy and test ride it for 5 years.

Ha, not really considering I recently finished the Jury. That combined with an upcoming move to SF puts a hold on funds for now. But I can always think, right?

Assuming that crack in the dropout is not detrimental, I'll pour money into this build. I wanna do this frame justice and kinda have a vintage-ish look in mind. I'm not familiar with what wheels might do this build some justice.
-King headset?
-Campy crankset?
-Phil hubs or Chub hubs

I'll deck this out, but don't expect this to be built anytime soon. I'll baby it and maybe see if that crack needs repairing. Is that possible?

Same here on my chrome frame. Chipped off in small sections.

Not trying to rain on any parade, just sayin make sure it's not structural.

Ha! Thanks man ... but I think I'll hold onto this one. Also, that macro shot makes it look worse than it is. Regardless, I'll take it to my LBS and see what they have to say. Several of the guys there do quality metal work (I've seen it) so they have valuable knowledge.

I'd probably just put a big ass washer under the nut on the crackside dropout to spread the PSI a bit. And try not to run the axle too far back in the dropout - less leverage that way.

If there are any cool framebuilders in the area, maybe they'd eyball it for ya for cheap.

Right on. Thanks for the advice. After further inspection, it looks like this frame has been waiting a long time to get built. There's a 2mm rust splotch on the underside of the bottom bracket, and a 5mm crack in the chrome near it, too. Definitely not structural though.

Pretty sure the dropout crack is aesthetic, too. I'm applying some force to it -- certainly nothing like riding would -- but can't get it too shift or feel like it's shifting. Still, I'll talk to some experts before I start buying components.

Thanks for all the help and compliments. It'll be nice to have a pista frame to compliment by wide-tire-fit frame.

Why is there a sleeve on the top Tube? Butted tubes are internnally thicker on the ends, at the tube junctions. Adding reinforcement in the middle of the tube doesn't make sence. Is this just so you don't dent the tube with your Bars?

I think it's for the "it looks cool" factor. Track racers and Tarckstars aren't known for exuberant weightweiniism, as far as I can tell, except maybe wheel weight for some.

It probably does extend forward enough to protect against bar strikes, though.

But that sleeve certainly adds several hundred pounds to the weight of the frame. :p

Wow, dem head tube angles look a lot slacker than the pic in the OP, and those are even with the rear wheel elevated!

they are really popular in Korea they are a dutch brand and it appears that leader is doing the global distribution for them since all the leader dealers here in Korea seem to carry their full line
they look sweet I have considered picking one of these up and the c-unit group from lsd or one of the other fixed gear shops here as a memento of Korea

Ooo, I like Rays hubs. Only found pics of them in gold though. I'm assuming they come in chrome.
