Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

yeah the list actually goes on ... been here for a decade, I've had to witness the evolution firsthand. Just wait until all the rich college kids catch on to the all hipster cred available when they rent mill space for residence in Olneyville and try to look like they have no money and stop bathing ... oops that's already happening.

oof.

Now why would you compromise the bottom bracket when you obviously did not for the crankset?
Having owned both, the protype is a distant fry cry from the legitimate 75 loose ball.

Bceause I'd rather replace a BB every now and then than mess with loose ball anything. That's just me.

yup it's rampant, they're everywhere... I love Providence, but I can't help but laugh a bit sometimes at some of the kids around here, to each their own I suppose. I'd rather have them than the guido euro trash I've have to deal with on the hill since 2002.

Bikes: DAWES MTA YO

I really, really like my ****ty, beat up, stripped-hub Dawes MTA. So far the decision to purchase it has been excellent. I now know that improperly tightened lockrings = hub death eventually. I also now know what a ***** brakes can be. Ooh man. My bike is so ugly I'm almost proud.

Nah it's more like taxes with cigarettes, think of it this way: $50 columbus tubing tax, $100 cinelli tax, $150 hipster tax, $200 MASH tax + local & state tax.
