Just me, but the little pad, or any length pad might cushion the top tube from a dent or even scratching against whatever you lock it up to ? A pole or handrail will contact your frame at a given single contact spot when you lean it up against it to lock it. Rarely does the bike scrape the entire top tube, so how much pad is enough protection. And as long as someone doesn't mess with your bike after you've locked it and walked away from it, a smaller pad should be adequate for any contact spot against a pole or handrail.

Mary-Louise Parker is geekily cute in precisely the way that Zooey Deschanel is -not-.

I think the kagero is ugly.

Can't say I don't agree... why?

For starters, the overly industrial livery (grey/black/white)... the shade of grey and decal placement/ choice/ design just evokes a gut feeling in me that makes me want to head to a cinelli dealer and put down cash for 2 histograms. Maybe, this is just the opposite of the colorful and thoughtfully composed livery of the frames from my primarily roadie world. Yet this does not make any sense as I have bikes (including my newest BoB dogma 2) of similar toned down livery but this feeling does not evoke.
The name also plays a part... ugh.

Nonetheless it's just me, I'm sure the kagero is an awesome ride. I tried loving this frame but it's not natural; you won't see me on a kagero any time soon heh.

Yeah, the name kinda sucks. I actually really like the new Mash Histograms, if I had the dough I would totally get one. Like you said I'm sure the Kagero is a great ride nonetheless.

I can't say I dislike it, but I don't think there's anything particularly special about it. It's like a Cinelli MASH, except no one here is going to give it crap because it has MASH tagged onto it.

The biggest disappointment, however, is that it costs $800.

FTFY and a $800 leader is one of the main points that I omitted as it was off from my aesthetic argument.

hahaha

i have been 'looking for' a good track geo frame/fork for the past three years. everything that kinda strikes me as nice is way overpriced for how 'nice' it is IMHO. in general, im like 'meh' when everyone on the internet is jacking to 'sick fixays'

i like the fuji track that everyone bought for cheap but i dont like buying online[im a nerd when it comes to 'support your local'] so i skipped it.

I'm not sure what this means. If I recall, everyone hated the Cinelli MASH because it was a MASH. That's all my post meant.

Never heard of her. No lie.

Scrodzilla 09-12-11 10:26 AM

Me neither. I had to Google her and I still have no idea (or care) who she is.

I went to montreal for the weekend and didn't go to a single strip joint.

calv 09-12-11 11:21 AM

I had no idea that was her name. Had to check to find out she's the girl from 500 days of summer haha.

I think the Kagero is a great frame, really enjoy the look of it. Sad that it's 800 bucks too though.
