the contender looks cool.

Another true confession: I'm digging the zombie stomper. I think I'm regressing to 2007.

Went on a critical mass ride and felt totally out of place as I was the only person riding a fixed gear in a sea of freds and mountain bikes

I have always disliked brooks saddles but I reallllly want a Brooks Swift on my Raleigh. That with some Soma Highway 1's, brown leather tape, and some aero brake levers. It would be soo hawt.

I used a freewhweel for the first time last night for about 20 miles and really enjoyed it. Up until now I had always ridden fixed on my SSFG bikes. I think I'm gonna ride with the freewheel for a while. I feel weirdly guilty about this.

After a while I subconsciously connected one bike with FG and others with freewheel. I had no issues riding freewheel until I tried it on the bike I always ride fixed. feels like cheating

Glad it wasn't just me!

Reviving this old thread...

I confess that I've been obsessing over the pre-2011 Jamis Sonik for the last few months. Someone's selling a mint one in my size just down the street. When I get the funds I sooo wanna get it. The wheels and crankset alone are worth the price of the complete.

Looking at a Jamis Sonik not a Dawes SST AL lol. I honestly don't know if I'd change anything on the stock bike if it were an 09-11. Maybe put my lighter saddle on it and re-wrap the bars but all the stock components are really nice.

I confess that I've spent about 700 extra dollars upgrading my already $700 fixed gear, yet I bought my girlfriend a Motobecane Track ($279 shipped) and convinced her that absolutely nothing needed to be upgraded (I got her new tape and gave her a different saddle and pedals from my stash, though)

Actual confession:
The hardest part of any ride for me is always just getting out the house.
