way to go on bringing your time down. I used to be on swim team... as a diver.

Thanks! I'm really proud of myself. Let's hope I can do it again next week!

Way to go homebrewk. I could never figure out which was harder, the 200 or the 500. The 200 is pretty much a sprint event, but once you hit a certain level of fitness so is the 500. I was better at the 200 though, I was the type of person to take it out near my 100 time and hang on for dear life.

Today I tried out a CAAD10, which was pretty sweet. Later I went to the track to try out a 48-14 gearing. Hit a new top speed, which I'm proud of even though it was a lowly 33.5mph.

Thanks! The CAAD 10 is a sweet bike BTW, I love mine!

Today I am getting day drunk

Street rider 09-07-11 12:39 PM

Today I got pulled over. And then rode a little way "with" one of the biggest hipsters I've ever seen on this campus.

homebrewk 09-07-11 06:25 PM

...and that makes it 1,000 posts for me. Giving myself a pat on the back.

Dannihilator 09-07-11 07:26 PM

Today I actually did a river crossing on the 930 while on a road ride. Only because the road was flooding. Don't know why the other person that tagged along freaked out, wasn't even hub high.

Today I got an early birthday present from my mother:

effing clicking back in omniums today. new pedals, cages, straps, etc - no doubt it's the crank arms or bb. gawwwd damn.

was hauling ass when the lights for a train crossing went off. decided I shouldn't try to stop and slam into the rail, sped up, rail came down, went underneath it when it was about 2 feet over my head. looked over and saw the train is extremely close to the crossing before they actually close those safety guards. kind of a scary moment.

that's some secret agent ****

hamfoh 09-08-11 12:09 AM

wouldn't have tried it, but I got caught by the train (and it was a long fuccker too) on the way to where I was riding (this happened on the way back). When I saw the tracks I started to speed up, just to say I wouldn't get caught again, didn't expect to actually see another train, we get like 5 the entire day on those tracks.

Happy birthday. I will not buy Apple products personally, but this is just genius.

sounds scary. you decided to bomb it before seeing the train and how fast it was going? maybe i'm spoiled but here in the city trains go slow so it's very noticeable if you need to stop or not. that's not a game i'd play without being able to see the train first.

Without a doubt it's the BB. That's why I finally said to hell with it and got 75s.

no love for kings BB? I'll take those Om-Nom-Nom's off your hands.

Today I:
Thought long and hard about getting a set of 29'ers for my new frame (Stans ZTR 355 laced to American Classic Disc Hubs) for $350, but realized that I need a few more things and money is tight. I'll keep looking...

I know, right? As much as I hate Apple, I like the concept and design of this thing haha.

Thanks, Comrade.

basically. I had my headphones in, so I'm sure I could've heard it a few streets over, but I literally didn't know it was coming until the lights came on.

Last night I went to a meeting for a team that's just starting up near me. Later today I'll go in to join up.

Today I swapped out the track bars for bullhorns on my Madison and put the front brake back on. Track season's over =[. Also went from 88 gear inches back to 63 for super spinning.

Actually called SRAM today and talked to them about it. Told them I had two different frames, pedal sets, chain rings, all that business and the problem continues. that I can't duplicate it on a repair stand but once there's force from the arms that it's there, may leave for a day or two but always returns. Told them a shop a bought them from had an owner with the same problem who said screw it and replaced them all together, so I'm not the only one.

Guy had me go through a series of questions about it all, then told me to take it to a bike shop, have them verify the problem and go through the same steps with them and then get the shop manager to call them back 9_9

Anyone want to make me an offer on one of my sets? I have a 'basically brand new' set and a used but not abused set. prices may vary! Nothing kills a good ride for me more than hearing and feeling that damn click. Last night was such awesome weather but that effing click is all I could think about

Yup.

That's one reason why the Omniums are so inexpensive. They cut costs with the cheap BB. It's a known problem.

Today I rode to and back from school for the first time. It's only about 7.5 miles each way, but was brutal for me since I am a hardcore noob and the ride is moderately hilly. Couple that with about 30lbs of textbooks on my back and I was hurting.

Still, probably the most fun I've had in the past few months. I'm super psyched and can't wait to do it again tomorrow :)
