Attended the "Heartland Velo" show in Madison WI. Attended a seminar with Steve Bilenky, Richard Schwinn (yes, that Schwinn -- now of Waterford), Earl Young, Mark Stonich and others where we discussed the genealogy of American frame building. Saw a number of my old aquaintances from the bicycle industry and generally had a good time.

I'm really happy I didn't die too.

And Hairent, you don't act stupid you act like a bike geek :p

Lets get wild at the next CM

hairnet 08-28-11 08:39 PM

How do you go wild at 5mph? I kinda want to bomb Cuhuenga or something- maybe we can jump to the front of CM and take it up there to the Hollywood Bowl. that would be crazy

Leukybear 08-28-11 09:15 PM

I just finished my 12th consecutive fixed metric century to be the 1st one to finish the competition. If I can do it, you can do it too! Please don't leave me all alone up here. :thumb:

Congratulations Leuky! Enjoy that premium membership and more importantly the feeling of success :thumb:

Today I tried my ATACs for a big ride. I've got them on road shoes. Eggbeater quattro pontoon from an old cleat protects it. Interesting, eh?

I can see you're fully taking advantage of the muscular men we have here at the spa.

Today I took a good ride from north of F'dale to Fairhaven and back It's my last full weekend in Bellingham so I went riding regardless of the wind.

Once I got to fairhaven and checked my cell it wouldn't take my password. Apparently I got sweat in there and now the keyboard isn't typing right. Since it's a blackberry it will wipe the phone if I get it wrong 10 times. It took me 5/10 tries to realize the keyboard was whack. Now I've got it in a bag of rice and I'll check it again in the morning. At least the Bold 9900 is coming out in November!!

I would but I have no "trip meter " or other ways of verifying my rides.

Today I rode my bike. Haven't been doing that much lately. Woke up and it was 60 degrees outside, so I did an "Aww hellz yeah" and pulled my road bike out of the garage. I'm realizing more and more when I ride it that I like it more than my sw8 fixay. Maybe it's the reasonable geometry, or the Brooks saddle, or the option to change gearing, but mostly I think it's just the fact that I love to coast and I don't ride like a badass anymore.

Touro's?

I happen to have been wrangling with my new roadie build too; adding electronics to a group adds a whole different playing field of installation... who said cable management was only for computers?

\that trick saved mine and my ladies old iphones a few times, one time sleeping on a couch on tour i poured a bottle of gingerale on myself/my phone in the middle of the night, another time i accidently knocked her phone out of her hand and into a kiddie pool, both times the phones were fine after a day in rice, good luck

Yep yep, touros. This bike is nothing fancy really. I'll still be proud to say I put the damn thing together myself though.

Post picturesssss of your roadie. I want to see this madness.

I'm kind of in the same situation. If I had a bike computer I would record my rides!

Leukybear 08-30-11 12:34 PM

I just had my heart broken at the LBS when the shamal wheelset (same logos as the front single I have) they had which looked cheap/ salvageable (it was a frankenstein wheel; shamal hubs were replaced with ugly plastic fad ones; damaged spokes) was going for $500... RIDICULOUS.
