Today I got my spokes tensioned and lockring tightened now that my wheel is broken in. I also got the risers on my Deadeye ready to chop. They're uncomfortably wide so I'm taking 4 cm off each side - about as narrow as I can get with brake levers.

You should just take the bars off all together. Gram the stem to steer. Super aero FTW.

During the ride to a friend's house I broke 2 spokes on my rear wheel while emergency skidding to avoid a car that ran a red light. How safe is the bike to ride right now? I'm ten miles from home and I have no cash for the bus/train. I don't wanna walk home.

I think you're fine. My buddy and I are poor students and we've both ridden without a few spokes before. Until it gets wobbly I think you can ride safely if you are careful.

Walked 2 miles wearing flip-flops. I've got a huge blister on the bottom of my foot. So THAT sucks.

I finally received my edge 800 unit replacement in a nifty little box in a box!
Best part was I did not expect to receive another accessories bundle with the replacement.

Today I told myself I'd quit smoking. We'll see how far that actually goes.

That's actually what got me wanting to quit in the first place. I feel a pretty big difference on days I smoke, compared to days I don't when I ride.

I smoked daily for 5 years, and quit overnight. It really just takes willpower. The first day is the hardest. My cravings were completely gone after just a couple weeks. You can do it if you discipline yourself. The key to not smoking is to not smoke.

Good luck! I quit by switching to e-cigs five months ago.
