Today I bought:

and

My Dell overheated and fried a drive, so I considered it totaled since I hated it and didn't want to spend money on it. Overnighting this laptop cost $100 (lol) but I need one ASAP for school, and Amazon approved me for 12month interest free financing. My first mac, so I'm uber excited. Should I buy non-prescription glasses now or later? What color of plaid should my first scarf be? Where is the best place for an apple tattoo? Why are so many apple fanboys dumb hipsters?

It will take me a hot minute, but I'll easily pay it off in a year. Everyone should do the same. We're American. Consume damnit!

congrats, i think a portable mac with a pc desktop is a great way to cheaply get the best of both worlds.

desktop macs (or mbps with docking stations that make pc desktops redundant) are too expensive to justiify for most, but the macbook air is useful and lightweight enough to take around places, and powerful enough for school.

just keep on top of the payments and don't **** around. no computer is worth getting behind/debt/interest for.
get a blue scarf and don't learn ANYTHING unix or even think about opening console. then you'll be well on your way to hipster bliss.

fwiw a lot of savvy techies love macbook pros but it's more because of the ****ing sheer awesome power of the mbp.
also apple cinema displays are true color workhorses that look amazing. besides that, the hardware is all whatever and the value is low.

the form factor of, say, a MBP with a docking station set up to a cinema display is, however, ****ing awesome for those that can afford it. i wish i could.

I like the idea of a driveless laptop. Its going to be a school/travel computer, so weight and size were of main concern. I looked at comparable PCs super laptops. Not even close in the price range. The iPod is the only apple product I've used prior, so it will take some time wrapping my head around OSX, but I know I'll figure it out eventually. I can't wait till hipster chicks are slobbering at my dick at coffee shops because of this laptop.

I went for 966, top of the line at amazon. It has 256gig flash drive, 4gig of memory, and 1.7ghz processor. Read great reviews about it, and then just pulled the trigger.

Thanks Charlie. I've been keeping on top of my billmelater for quite some time, so I'll be good. I've had interest in source code in the past, but never got into unix.

I'm thinking I should jailbreak the **** out of this thing and ignore apple OS.

Stick it out. You'll get used to it. Pretty much everything I have is apple, from my Macbook pro, iphone, and my ipods. Got my dad hooked on their stuff too, since it actually works, and if it breaks, has pretty solid customer service.

Well, the wings are pretty small, some as small as my thumb. And yea, they kinda suck... but they're only $0.15!!! This place back home has wings that are like 5x the size that are amazing and come in about 20 different flavors. The most I've eaten there is 15 and I felt pretty bad afterwards.

My fraternity had a wing eating contest, I put away 51 in 30 minutes. Lost by two wings. But the guy I lost to outweighed me by about 100 pounds, and I could tell that he was just cruising, and his total would always be n+1 (n=my total). Anyway, I felt miserable for about a day and half afterwards. Never again.

is it better to slow down and have a nice chat with the roadie trailing you? or give him a good ride by continually having him trail you?

actually, jus do what you want. chat if you're in a good mood.

Just don't expect him to be trying to pass you or keep up with you or something.

All of these "I passed a roadie!" remarks are just silly.
Let him do his thang too, which may or may not involve riding fast.

It's funny because over in the road forums, trailing somebody without "asking" is considered super rude and everyone over there seems to hate it.

Here, we want to have a chat with them.
