Bright.

Honestly I'd have to look, it's some nos tape I found on eBay, two rolls for like $10. The finish tape was the world champion stripes and the end caps were chrome. *shrugs*

Finally had a morning where I can catch up on the news; stumbled on this:

http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2012/...ng-hit-by-suv/

2 days ago; another one.
The one tmonk posted up seemed just like yesterday. :(

TMonk 04-20-12 10:51 AM

gd dude

freakin' cars man WHY????!??!!!!?!

atleast i didn't have to see this one bloody on the ground

hamfoh 04-20-12 11:02 AM

had a friend get hit last week, destroyed his soma. I don't know if it's a defense mechanism or what but the drivers in the accidents I see don't even get out going OMG ARE YOU OKAY, they just kinda examine the damage and begrudgingly give you their information. Read the comment by cynthia on your link, typical example of this.

Another guy hit two days ago on the same road I commute on 4 days a week. I didn't see what he looked like but he's probably not well after what was left of his bike

hairnet 04-20-12 11:10 AM

****, those stories always take me back to when I was hit. bike destroyed, bloody mess, shattered helmet, unconscious, but I got away with no broken bones or any real bad permanent damage. :( I commute on a huge busy road with a bike lane, still have to constantly watch out for idiots and right hooks.

hamfoh 04-20-12 11:41 AM

There's not a bike lane during my commute so I've been pretty lucky. The people who really piss me off are those who pass me 2 cms from me instead of just using that lane. I guess they just assume cyclist ride in a straight line, at all times, no matter what. Such a 'me me me me' attitude

yummygooey 04-20-12 11:44 AM

If there are two lanes and the speed limit is above 30mph I usually take the whole lane. People can either stay behind me or move over... I hate it when they pass super close to me when I'm already practically riding in the gutter.

TMonk 04-20-12 12:04 PM

Moral of the story?

Car commuting > Bike commuting

TMonk 04-20-12 12:04 PM

btw im only half way serious.
doesn't jdg get hit by a car like twice a day or sumting?

...but i am kinda srs

I take the majority of the lane unless I can tell a car wants to get around me. The bike lane has proved incredibly dangerous for me on the few roads around here that have one

I'm curious as to what road it is. The only two I could think of are Sunset and Santa Monica Blvd.
My commute on Santa Monica Blvd isn't all that bad.

Growing my hair and beard out in competition with my 10 year old son. He wants to donate his hair in a year to Locks of Love. I just want to look something like this:

Amon Amarth, another great band too.

craigcraigcraig 04-20-12 04:17 PM

bands wearing their own t shirts is cool too.

Santaria 04-20-12 04:18 PM

would be better if they had on New Kids on The Block shirts, or Beiber.

Today I turned on my work email out-of-office responder, changed my outgoing voicemail, and turned off my work email on my phone.

I am officially on vacation! I leave for Europe on Monday, and don't have to think about work until May 7.

I stretched a lot in the off season, so my riding position changed...again. Needed a longer top tube.

The 2nd Tiemeyer had a longer top tube than the first (58 vs 57). I thought that would be enough, but it wasn't. The Dolan is 59cm.
