Good luck Tom!

So apparently, if youre under 19, tiding on the track, and renting a bike is free :D

At Hellyer? I'm fairly sure if you're 18 you have to pay.

Pretty women, Fixed Gear bikes, tailwinds, and Fat Tire Ale, of course!

I was with you up until Fat Tire. Haha, kidding. Best of luck, Tom.

Today a friend checked himself into rehab again. Hopefully this time it works.

After work tonight, Midnight Marauders. All-night cycling adventure. Rad.

Finally dusted off the Guzzi for a ride on this beautiful spring day. She ran great for sitting for 4 months.http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i2...3/DSC00486.jpg

Today I did a windy/hilly (for central Illinois at least, lulz) 40 miles. Idk what the rest of today entails.

TheRealFaux 04-21-12 03:22 PM

Today I went to the track and (quite literally) bumped into Muffin Man. In a couple hours I'm doing some sprint racing hosted by a SJF.

xavier853 04-21-12 03:26 PM

Today, I bought a bunch of clothes. Time to look good!

Sixty Fiver 04-21-12 03:33 PM

Today I slept in after a wild night of junk food and movies with my daughter, have been doing the weekly tidy and weekly cage cleaning and working on some recall and training exercises with the feathered kids.

Nice way to spend a Saturday afternoon... will be going on my first fixed ride of the season after dinner and am looking forward to that.

Makes me miss my old bike... Honda CB750F with an 812 big bore kit that we had set up for vintage racing but was a beautiful road machine that never gave me a moment of trouble and was disturbingly fast.

1981 Honda CB650 was my baby back in the 90s. When I was stationed at Barber's Point, I rode around on a 89' Kawasaki 600R until I flipped it, literally.

Last bike I got to ride there before I left:

http://www.bikeexif.com/wp-content/u...otorcycles.jpg Not this exact one, but a pawn shop there in Honolulu had one in it and I was a friend of the owner.. Good times were had by all and it only cost me a 6er of Guinness.

Continued on my quest to find good pizza in this godforsaken place. Sadly, the search must continue.

Dannihilator 04-21-12 08:09 PM

Today I have gotten a great 80 miles in. It's also raining FINALLY.

calv 04-21-12 08:50 PM

Saw some guy at Picnic Day 2012 that reminded me of Dave:

Stopped by to say hi to everybody!

Scrodzilla 04-21-12 08:53 PM

Hahaha...I love how you took sneaky pics of the dude.

How the hell have you been, Calv? What's up with your Kagero?

calv 04-21-12 09:01 PM

Wheels done (not by me, not enough time to even attempt to finish truing it even though I bought a truing stand ) and should be up and running by Monday!

I've been off the grid for a while haha..

Just an observation:

I really am amazed at how doing a few minor adjustments on a bike can completely change ride quality and comfort. It makes me wonder how many bikes I got rid of, thinking they were altogether wrong for me, when I could have done just as well by continuing to tweak the fit.

seau grateau 04-21-12 10:47 PM

Did my commute to work in 38 minutes. This ride used to take me 45 on most days. I'm a little pumped.

FakeFuji 04-21-12 11:09 PM

+1
This last year I have found I am very sensitive to minor adjustments all over the bike. It just makes tweaking the bike more time consuming

Today Davis was hot :( Picnic Day was ok, plus it's funny watching Davis police respond to things (sprinting through downtown, on foot and on bikes). I didn't see calv though, nor did I see a Scrod lookalike.

Honestly after ~10 years Picnic Day is just meh.

calv 04-22-12 12:32 AM

Dude I would have loved it if you spotted me. DIdn't spot any Davisfixed people either. I spent a lot of time where the dogs were.

Jaytron 04-22-12 01:07 AM

Today I went to the Sea Otter Classic and had an amazing time. Tons of pictures that I'll upload tomorrow probably.

Today I also learned that CX is amazing and I want a CX bike NAO.

GENESTARWIND 04-22-12 01:28 AM
