+1, my neighborhood is trashed.... beer cans, food particles, fireworks, all kinds of ****

Glad you're still in one piece jimmy. If I were you, I would've considered riding on the sidewalk, this way if he tries to do some funny business his going to suffer some damage.

ddeadserious 07-05-12 11:34 AM

Today I listed my Kagero on eBay and shipped out some parts from it. Feeling slightly sentimental now.

ThermionicScott 07-05-12 12:32 PM

Isn't his name "Bryan"? Glad you're still with us, whatever your name is. :thumb:

ddeadserious 07-05-12 12:33 PM

jimmytango is a reference to an Every Time I Die song. His name is Bryan.

Ahhh... /finds song

jimmytango 07-05-12 01:14 PM

Yes, my name is Bryan. The song's name is Jimmy's Tango Method.

It happened along Devon Avenue in Chicago which, as Kaz can tell you, always has tons of parked cars, and curbs too high for me to hop. No sidewalk option. Alley worked well enough.

Today I:

Hauled some packages to the post office (singlespeed). Then went for a longer fixed ride, and a second trip to the post office (fixed). It was hot.

Then I started working on one of my projects. Really, Campagnolo, WTF? Is this what it is like to have a pretty, high-maintenance Italian girlfriend? I'm not giving up, but I'm sure appreciating my Japanese parts a lot more now.

Went for a long lonely bike ride (Charleston is full of people with bikes who refuse to ride them). Ended up at the park, where I contemplated many things.

beach cruisers and golf carts

ThermionicScott 07-05-12 05:40 PM

Yesterday, I decided that the "anatomic" bend wasn't doing it for me anymore, so I switched back to my SR "Randnner" bars. While at it, I deleted the right (unused) brake lever, and moved the left one downward so it would be easier to reach from the hook. All this in order to break myself of the habit of getting out of the drops when going downhill, or when things look sketchy.

Definitely feels more comfortable in the drops now.

Haha basically. Theres a lot of kids who ride FG/SS here too, but I tend to get "Its too hot!" out of them.

I had a really cool weekly group ride going on here for a few weeks. Had 15+ cyclists every time, but we've gotten rained out the last 5 weeks in a row.

Nagrom_ 07-05-12 06:03 PM

Today I got some badass clip-on, fold-up sunglasses. classy as **** mang. Also dropped coin on a new razor. most money i've ever spent on shaving equipment.

Getting a cateye strada wireless tomorrow, and a new set of SPD-SL cleats. Need some liner shorts too.

Starting Saturday morning I will be completely off the grid for about a month.

chi0dos 07-05-12 06:58 PM

I got 2 flats 30 miles into the ride. I hate goatheads....

RGNY 07-05-12 07:10 PM

maiden voyage w/ yesterday's build. SSCX. used '05 Ridley Crossbow frame/fork, some used parts and some new parts from the "good deal/closeout" reserve.

Oh hell yeah RGNY, that is an amazing build. Super hot. So jealous of the orange bar tape, and the hoods look fine to me.

heh, thanks! i'm just used to hoods coming straight out from the flats. but i have relatively short arms and Ridley's are sized -so- weird. fits great, but this is a 56cm and feels like a 58/59.....

this one really came together. my highschool colors were orange and black, so it was just for fun, but i have to say it works (although i had black Lizardskins in reserve).

Dannihilator 07-05-12 07:29 PM

Today I took it mellow at the pumptrack. Throwing down tomorrow.

Nagrom_ 07-05-12 07:39 PM

OH, also replaced my pocket knife that I sadly lost on bart. The guy gave it to me half off because he felt like it. sweet.

Good luck on the interview. You know I wanna know how it goes.

RGNY, that build looks killer.

ThermionicScott 07-05-12 08:33 PM

Nice! I'm likely somewhere between there and 1200. Distance riding is my catharsis, but I always forget my Strava.

Dannihilator 07-05-12 09:10 PM

Damn Bryan, glad you're ok

hamfoh 07-05-12 09:57 PM
