Oh wow, I knew about the new "Cosmos" with NDT but had no idea Seth Macfarlane was behind it. That's awesome!

was really happy my commuter has Rando 32's. couldn't get on the gravel canal trail due to construction and had to ride about 3mi on fresh/soft/squishy/hot blacktop.

only about 3/4 of a lane and cars still speeding/squeezing by me even though workmen are yelling at them to slow down, while at the same time cheering me on for some reason.

still, @ hairnet: damn. glad you're ok....

Yeah. I'm not a huge fan of most of his comedy, but some of it is pretty intelligent.

Shooting people in video games is nice catharsis sometimes. Debating between continuing that or going on a long ride.

A wealth of information on that Tange headset can be found here.

Nagrom_ 07-03-12 12:08 PM

I'm off to the hospital for what I hope will be my last follow up for my foot.

Then after, I'll head to the lbs, pick up like 4 tubes, a cateye strada wireless, a spare GP4000S, and new shoes/helmet if they can talk me into it.

I rode to the Post office with a box of parts headed to Texas as part of a 3way swap then I went to the beech for a nice mile swim followed by a nice 6 mile ride home....Summer in Southern New England is nice

great ****ing start to the day. No more than 4 blocks from the start of my commute I get right hooked by a car in the MIDDLE LANE (of 3) trying to get into a damn Target parking lot. It's a ****ty stretch of road because of the parking lot so I always take the lane and just try to fly through there (and no, there is no other way out from my neighborhood, it really sucks) I saw it, grabbed a fist full of brake, yelled my lungs out, and tried to match her turn. I still shouldered her passenger door and knocked her mirror but I managed to slow enough to not cause damage to myself or the car. Kept on yelling, saw the look of shock on her face, and just rode off. So ****ing angry the whole ride to work, only ten fabulous miles to go

This happened in Buffalo yesterday, 55 year old guy on his way to work right-hooked by a dump truck. He died and there are no charges pressed by the police yet. Be stoked you're alive at least. My area really sucks when it comes to driver accountability

hairnet 07-03-12 01:30 PM

Yeah, she did it ahead a little of me but I was going at least 20mph (I try to get out of there fast and today proved why). So I saw her turn in front of me and just braked and tried to turn so I wouldnt collide head on. Still, if I were in my car going 35 I would have destroyed her. WHO DOES THAT!?

LesterOfPuppets 07-03-12 01:32 PM

Surely you came out of nowhere and had your invisibility cloak on. Happens all the time ;)

hairnet 07-03-12 01:35 PM

this is the first time I actually collided with the right hooker. great fun

Got laid to the Diablo 2 sountrack. Yes it was higher on the list than "bang a MILF" and "bang a cougar". Don't judge.

that's cool. my girlfriend does not like music when we get busy

Today I sent a resume for a new job. I've realized recently that cooking doesn't make me happy any longer, so I've been looking for something I could do instead. Found a job as a food buyer for a wholesale specialty food importer. They wanted a bachelor's degree or five years in high-end food service, so I qualify. If I got it, I would net more than my wife and I currently gross combined, and I'd get a normal person schedule. That would be nice. More income + better schedule = more beiks and time to ride them.

prooftheory 07-03-12 02:21 PM

Good luck. That sounds like a definite step up.

ddeadserious 07-03-12 02:24 PM

Yeah, good luck.

I graduated in May and haven't spent any time job hunting. I probably should do so.

Mumonkan 07-03-12 02:45 PM

good luck, ive spent my entire "day off" applying to jobs just looking for full time, hope i can find something before summer ends :(

least i get to ride my bike carrying my 30 pound bag uphill to work tonight

nuhtowel 07-03-12 03:18 PM

What bike/frame is that? My wife just commented on it walking by and was curious

nuhtowel 07-03-12 03:59 PM

Its a GT rapid transit, they only made them for 1 year in like 1997, but it does have a nexus 7 speed IGH.

It used to be crap brown but I stripped it down and her dad powdercoated it for her.

In other news, my verbal percentile dropped by 3% and my math dropped by 5% since ETS cannot decide on what the distribution of scores are this year.

Nagrom_ 07-03-12 04:35 PM

Got back from the doc. Bone is still filling in. I'm cleared to ride/walk, but no running/jumping. If it starts to hurt, they gave me a little rigid rubber shoe thing.

Follow up in a month.

This is getting old.

Adrian_ 07-03-12 06:59 PM

Today I rode my friends Klein Quantum...... SWEET JESUS ME GUSTA!!! I felt like I was in heaven.

63_dorinte 07-03-12 07:06 PM

Today I:

Got electricity back at the house after nearly five days without. I survived the storm with no injury and only minor damage to the house. Dealing with up to 102F heat (~80% humidity) with no fan for the past few days has really worn me out. Got to ride every day, though.

Now eating a roasted beet without butter because the butter did not survive the power outage. Still good. Hoping the grocery will be open and have refrigerated stock by the weekend.

FakeFuji 07-03-12 07:14 PM

Today I found out my baby mama doesn't have cervical cancer, and I'm through a six pack of blue moons happy as hell.

Dannihilator 07-03-12 07:16 PM

Today I had a mellow day dirt jumping.

RGNY 07-03-12 08:49 PM

storm blew in while i was at fencing practice, so rode home in a steady downpour. actually felt good after two hours encased in kevlar.

car full of (apparently) drunk 20something girls yelling "tough guy" and passing about 6" from me.

1. i resisted the urge to kick your car.

2. it's just water coming down, not scorpions. it's not a big deal.

Nagrom_ 07-03-12 08:52 PM

Just imagined a storm pouring down scorpions onto a man riding a bike carrying swords.

Tough guy.
