Bikes: See my sig...

Today I got my car registered and insured after watching it collect leaves for over a year... planning a road trip to Oregon in a few weeks with my daughters and they just aren't up to riding the 1000 miles to Portland.

Bikes: Giant Escape 2

Today (actually last night) I finally bought my "starting bike" (off for 30 years) off Craigslist. Boy they go fast! Got a slightly used 19" Giant Escape 2 for about 1/2 the LBS price. Came with a bottle holder and kickstand. In good shape but a few scratches from a drop on the non-chain side. Once I get back home from New Mexico (business trip), I'll get it going and post a photo (but you know what they look like already!).

I just picked up a sweet jersey. Its yellow, and sits next to my name for 2 years.

Bigger question is when we all get together for a ride and some adult refreshments while I am there...

Today I got some tektro r450 brake hoods, my first set of hoods from this century and damn they are comfortable, put 40 miles on them in the last two hours, I need new bar tape so bad. 10 month old lizard skins that have seen three different bars, but for the time being they are fine. My kilo might be a budget bike but man I love trying to ride it into the ground.

Donked out my Audi. Going on an embarrassing 1200 mile trip back to Colorado before she is lowered. =(

Details?

I happen to have one as well; built around a mac pro with 8tb's of multimedia goodness all bound together w/ RAID 0+1.

nothing fancy

macmini running rumpus (maxum.com), 2TB JBOD NAS, gigabit efeernet linked into the studio's macpro

several buildings ago, i had a nice fiber link, and ran a similar system with much joy and rejoicing. moved my studio into a different building two miles away, best i could get was bonded DSL... switched to YSI, and my life has been hell ever since.

moved again, and i don't have fast net, but i can't be losing time/money like this with outages anymore
