Woah a new bike that ships with schwinn style brake lever extensions! I thought they went extinct ages ago in the early - 90's.

TheRealFaux 11-02-12 02:24 AM

Today I witnessed a guy walk into a shop with a busted rear spoke on his Cervelo road bike. The shop couldn't fix it on the spot because it was a proprietary bladed spoke. The owner of said Cervelo then proceeded to buy a brand new $3500 Cinelli Mash Bolt to ride home on. The guy had also never ridden a track bike before.

#mindblown

i didnt say it was new. the extensions are all jacked up so i want to take them off. judging by your response it doesnt look like that will present a problem. for $40 i dont expect much from it, other than to not be lame and be able to convert it to a SS

reason i post it here is because i want to convert it to a SS, so i need to get reading

Went through some Halloween pictures. This is a friend and I dressed up as Ted Kennedy and the girl he drove off a bridge in the 60's (this is our posed picture. She wasn't that drunk):

Twas a good Halloween this year.

Today I bummed myself out looking at pictures of the destruction in NJ. Compounded by the fact that I'm 500 miles away and can't help out my parents and siblings makes for a bad day.

Today I had to do my first walk of shame up a hill in SF. Stopped by the Post Office to pick up a package, turned on some random street I've never been on before to get home that turned out to be super narrow with like a 20% grade. At least it was only one block, flattened out on the next one. Time to find a new route to the PO.

He left it at the shop to pick up later.

For some reason, I'm not surprised. BFSSFG does that.

Today I was considering No Shave November but decided not to do it because my sqrl says facial hair makes me look like a pedo.

Today I'm sitting in the office staring at the clock waiting to get off work so I can put my new [used] Turbo on

Leukybear 11-02-12 01:50 PM

Today I learned ball end allen keys are a godsend for adjusting thomson seatposts.

calv 11-02-12 01:58 PM

Really? I must try, or buy some, for that matter.

A cheater shaft helps in the end when torquing it down.

cali_axela 11-02-12 02:18 PM

So THAT'S what those ball ends are for. I've honestly thought kind of a lot about why they're on the end, and never figured out a use for them. Thanks!

calv 11-02-12 02:19 PM

Good lord, that is MUCH needed.

I think I saw a set in my dads basement. I'll probably buy them off of him when I get a chance to go back home.

RGNY 11-02-12 02:53 PM

love ball ends. for all those hard to reach places....

today i realized that the weather that would have me looking for car keys last year (35F and steady rain) is "no big deal" this year. thank you bike for teaching me the discipline of HTFU.

buddy called me to let me know he has a pair of "worn once" Sidi Diablo boots that didn't fit him properly and i can have them for $100. should fit, here's hoping, 'cause i'm all over that....

Nagrom_ 11-02-12 03:44 PM

Bought a pair of shoes today.

seau grateau 11-02-12 04:12 PM

Today I was all pissed because I couldn't find any good Black Friday sales. Then I remembered when Black Friday is.

GMJ 11-02-12 04:14 PM

I'm about to pick up a pair of Mavic Avenirs. My 105's came in today and I'm a little psyched.
