This morning I got my first puncture flat ever on my 2 year old Pasela TGs. It was 6:30am, I was about 5 miles from home and wouldn't you know it -my 15mm wrench was in my other bag. Stupid.

Today (technically it was today since it was at 1:30 am) I was riding home from a night of beers and karaoke and heard gunshots. I slowed down and paid attention to my surroundings but after a few blocks I figured all was clear. Then I turned west and I see right in front of me a group of guys running across the street and jumping into a car. The guy driving is so anxious to get going that he is moving while the guys are still trying to hop into the car. I see another guy standing on the side of the road obviously talking to 911/the cops and reading off the license plate number. I come to a stop and watch the car continue west across the intersection ahead of me. The light turns red and as I'm waiting, cops come flying down the street and start to turn east. I wave my arms and point and tell them the car went west, they asked what kind of car (white Mazda3, I know because I have a Mazda3 myself) and turned around and flew after them.
The light turned green and I crossed the street but I really had no interest in following a police chase, so I pulled up on the sidewalk. There's a bar right there on the corner and the bartender and a couple customers were out smoking and saw the whole thing. They suggested I come inside for a bit to let things calm down so I did (and they let me bring my bike inside so I didn't have to lock it up).
The bartender bought me a shot of Jameson for "doing my civic duty."
/cool story, bro

Fun times in the city. What area were you in?

Roger's Park, far north side at Broadway and Granville. I've lived in Chicago for 9 years and it's the first time I've ever heard gunshots. I used to live about half a mile south of where all this went down but on the other side of Broadway. East of Broadway and things are pretty sketchy, west of it and it's a nice residential neighborhood.

Today I:
Like all other days, I have my list of dealz to check out. Stumbled on Western Bike Works deal, and was interested to see some other designs. Headed over to Amazon.com to check it out, and found this:

Pretty tempted to get another jersey, but I am not quite sure this is the one. Tho, I am sure someone here will appreciate it.

Been there. Then I'm in that moment where I try to decide whether I should lock up the bike somewhere and run home and grab my vehicle or just walk the ****er the entire 5 miles. I always walk it :/

But of course why wouldn't you? Friction kills the moment.
Nonetheless I think the last minute switch to lizardskins was a big part of it.

I have no money to do anything. I literally have 5 dollars in my wallet, it's just enough to buy a decent beer at the store.
