anything else? just polling options i might not be aware of. |
Curious - why are you against using a shim and choosing from a vast plethora of available stems?
|

Actually, an even worse-case scenario is that you fall into a swamp and get your legs chewed off by an alligator while being chased by a grizzly bear with a rocket launcher. But I see what you're saying.

Silly question, but what it the actual OD of a 1" threadless stem? Is is 22.2 mm or 25.4 mm. Was wondering as I have a idea for a project floatiing around in my head.

get a shim, go 31.8. all the good bars and stems are OS now anyways
|
your first case scenario should be: the thomson shim, it's only $5, widely available
shimming 1" to 1 1/8" is not a "results to", its a "perfectly what you should do anyway" to. guess what: the best nice looking good quality 1" stem is a 1 1/8" thomson stem. |
get a Nitto Technomics.

^hopefully in 1 1/8!

actually i think i remember reading they were going to be 1 1/8th. makes sense, most threadless forks are.

I've used a couple different ones made by Velo Orange. They're well made. Clean. And affordable.
Different styles and angles. http://store.velo-orange.com/index.p...nts/stems.html |

theyre definitely different. i have the sides of my black one covered in black reflective tape. its a reversible upgrade or downgrade depending on how you feel about being a cinelli billboard. the top down view is always very cool to me!

Yes, I was definitely talking length.
I also think they're pretty ugly, but cool at the same time. |
