I like 48/19 on my fixed for tooling around. Plus if you skid, you have 19 skid patches.

Definitely not worth it, IMO, even if that is a good price.

Even if you knocked off $100, I still didn't wouldn't pay that much. $370 is insane.

Yeah, so true. It's not even that much of a discount after I looked into it.

Of those two options, I'd get the Cinelli. If I were you with your budget though, I'd look for an older obscure handmade track frame with some character. Someone on my local forum is selling this Merrick frame and I'd choose it 10 times out of 10 since it's way cooler than any of newfangled track frames that have come out in recent years.

I can get behind that. At the moment I have a 'city' bike that I feel comfortable locking up for long periods of time in the city and now I want to build a new school track bike. After that I have considered building a 'vintage' setup...or for my wife as she digs the old stuff more. Nothing wrong with having multiple.

Should I get a brooks saddle for windsor hour? Its getting retired to "townie" duties(groceries, pleasure cruises with the dog, etc) Looking to smooth out the ride a bit, got some fresh 25c vittoria rubinos(big improvement over the 23c kendas) and some relaxed moustashe bars. I'm hesitant because I don't have a threadless stem and I never thought they looked "right" on anything else - but my bike is sort of a Frankenstein at this point anyway so if they're that much more comfortable I'm all in.

If so, which?

It seems that saddles are about the most personal choices one makes on a bike. Brooks saddles seem to be the most personal opinion of the saddle group.

Folks that like the Brooks are quite loyal, some keeping the same one for decades!!! I would think it worthwhile to try and see for yourself. A search of used Brooks saddles on eBay right now turns up 41 candidates. One might be yours!!!

Should I buy a fuji feather frame + headset, stem, eggbeaters, crankset, seatpost for $160? My biggest issue is having to buy a fork. The wheelset I can just order off velomine.
