My question to you saddlebag/jersey wearers is where do you keep your U-lock? Or do you just mob that around and then go no where else after/ before?

I'm thinking more of after every ride, me and my buddies will likely go to a bar or two to wind down/get food and without a U lock that's pretty much impossible.

If you want to fit according to seat tube that would be correct. The bike should feel fine. At stop lights.

should i throw away this 27" 6 speed wheel i have kicking around?

its from my 87 fuji, i doubt i could get any actual money for it
