+1 to KoolStops. The Salmons are really good in wet weather, but if you never ride in the rain, get the Blacks. They perform better in the dry. If you ride all year round, try out the dual compounds.

Everyone,
Convince me I shouldn't sell my kilo to build a 2014 caad capo. |

+1 to what everyone said.
Tektro generally makes a pretty damn good brake for the cost. In order to keep costs down, they give you crappy pads. Kinda like how electronic manufacturers use really crappy batteries in their products. It's to keep costs down. I'd much rather have ****ty batteries and pads, than a ****ty flashlight or caliper. The consumables are where the costs are cut. +1 to KoolStops. The Salmons are really good in wet weather, but if you never ride in the rain, get the Blacks. They perform better in the dry. If you ride all year round, try out the dual compounds. Do I need to get the brake shoes with the pads, or does KoolStop make a replacement pad that will fit the stock tektro shoes? Apologies- I'm a bit clueless on brake pads. |

Sounds good. Thanks a lot guys.

If your calipers have shoes, they're shimano/sram compatible.
I will personally recommend the KoolStop Dura2 Blacks. They're all I use. Unfortunately I get stuck riding in the rain a fair bit, so I'll probably end up picking up the salmons or the dual compounds (the salmons might even keep from dirtying up the front gumwall so much, which would be nice) |
Go with the Salmons for sure, then.

Capos are judged and built to a higher standard than kilo's nags. Your kilo was just practice. :p

The capo would be caad round two.

Next question:
How much should I ask for the kilo? Should I part out? |

Should I buy a Fuji Track 1.1 for a 24 mile commute 3 days a week?

No.

Hmmm I've actually seen this bike in the wild while getting chow during lunch on market street in SF.
Bike is pretty much the industry definition of been there, done that as far as track bikes go. Any budget friendly china-VISP/PCO/Colossi has what it does. ~~You can do better with your choices. Not really a commuting type bike by the way; aluminium is a crappy material to commute with. Get something chromoly. Props to fuji for getting rid of the user cut seat mast tho. |

should i...
part out/sell my vigorelli and get something made of steel? a wabi, new 5th anniv. big block, or a bareknuckle are what i had in mind. those framesets seem to be more geared towards general street use and commuting. |
You should keep your Vig and build a new steel bike. Variety is the slice of life.
