Should I sell/part out my Leader, keep my Trek and use the funds to pay some bills and eventually build up a sscx bike? I've been dying to get into cross and this gets two birds stoned at once.
ideally I'd like to end up with a Felt breed (LBS is a felt dealer), or an AC Nature Boy or Nature Boy Zona. The Zona is around the same price but the stock components are nicer than the breed. |

Archetypes are a better rim.
Since Velocity moved their production to the US, quality has been inconsistent at best. Go figure. |
I guess archetypes are purrty too :) I'll probably just go with them.

Buy this sick Colnago. http://www.ebay.com/itm/221266379114...84.m1438.l2649
Turn it into a single speed with CK hubs?? |

Obviously I would, but the parts bin just doesn't warrant the road bike build. Unless you think Sora STIs, Tektro brakes, an FSA 46/36 CX crank, and Tiagra mechs befit that Colnago?
I have a great pair of green CK hubs with the single speed rear hub which are now freely available after crashing my single speed tourer and damaging the frame. So basically I'm looking for a frame to go on my sick wheels. Kilo TT need not apply. |
Buy a Velocity Fusion Clincher rim with Sapim Laser Double butted spokes and lace it up to the hub I have for 110? Or do you guys have any other recommendations for a rear wheel. Only nmsw and preferably black with a 32 hole drill pattern.

Archetype, but it might look odd without a matching set.

You could get an A23 but the fusion is a good rim.

I want to get a shorter stem for my Kilo TT...which of these looks best?
Bontrager SSR - $25 http://www.idahomountaintouring.com/...m-179439-1.htm Giant - $25 http://www.idahomountaintouring.com/...m-184507-1.htm VO - $35 + $10 for shipping http://store.velo-orange.com/index.p...0-17-rise.html The stock stem is silver, and the VO is the only silver of the 3..but my bike is black, so a black stem wouldn't look weird. |
Get the VO. They're sexy.
|
Couple of things to consider, what color is your seatpost? How much angle do you want?
The VO is sweet looking, but at +/-17*, that's going to be a helluva bend either down or up. Also, I think the bontrager has an ugly weld on it, all things considered. |

I want to be more upright and relaxed, so that's why I was initially eyeing the 17 deg angle, but I could probably get where I want to be as far as position on the bike with the 6 deg (which is what the Kilo stem is) and a shorter stem. |
It's all about what works best for you, just noticed the other ones weren't as extreme and didn't know if you picked it on purpose or not.
Also, make sure you get the right size for your handlebars. I had that problem when I was looking, kept finding good deals but the size was always wrong. |

The current Rum Runner has a 1 1/8" head tube. The one you bought is the older 1" version. (edit: Which means the carbon fork you were asking me about on the Retrogression forum is out of the equation.)
Also, learn how to type and post a link for ****'s sake. |
should i buy an alpine carbon fork and cane creek for my pake if this local guy still has them?
this is what i measured http://imageshack.us/a/img138/2257/h3ps.jpg |
