Get dem Omnomz.
|
True... we'll see. The cranks are probably what I'll last switch out.
|
I'd say just ride it into the ground first. Or I'd change the crankset first to something that is 144bcd so you can start stocking up on chainrings (I'm assuming you're going to keep coming to the track).

Yeah... this sounds more appropriate. Just change what I need to. I guess just track drops and a new crank set. Probably get some used DA on ebay.

Should I buy a stock 2011 Specialized Allez triple for $550?

Should I:
Keep my Ortliebs and buy some racks, or sell the Ortliebs and buy a BOB trailer? |
BOB trailer is real nice! It worked out really well when I used it (burrowed from a friend). Might get one myself soon (and it is super easy to switch between bikes.

Done. Super pumped!

Should I get the coffee shop covers for my speed play cleats? (like $5 at my LBS) |
Should I pay the premium price tag of a mission workshops The Rambler backpack for nearly four months of living on my bike commuting to my summer internship?
No car, which means lots of grocery runs, rain commutes, and carrying tech to work. 5'7" here so I think the vandal must be pretty big on me. |
I don't know about the Rambler, but I have the Monty and I love it.
|
I haven't looked into messenger bags mainly for the reason that I would have to do grocery runs. I feel like a backpack that distributes the weight would be the better option. Do you think The Monty is comfortable enough for grocery hauling?
|
I use my Rambler everyday and I'm 5'7"! :)
I love mine to pieces, and it's not that big when the main zipper is closed, when I do need to transport something huge I open it up and becomes massive, it's a very nice compromise. |

That's great to hear! I'm not worried about the size when expanded because that's the whole reason of buying it! Would you say that in collapsed mode it works well as an everyday backpack for your height?

A like-new Concor Light with a scuffed side for ~$45?
|
Should I buy a pake rum runner frame and fork and switch over any parts I can from my bianchi pista (wheelset, drop bars, etc)? I enjoy my bike, but just want something different/different color. Or should I just use the money to upgrade parts on my pista?
|
Just paint the frame. Or pay someone to paint the frame.
Or buy a new bike. |
I would sell it; a pista with original paint is worth much more than a painted/ powdercoated pista. It takes away the name brand factor that some people want.
|
I don't want to paint it, since I think I would get less money if I ever decide to sell the frame. Its one of the chrome pistas, and people seem to like it because of the color/name recognition. I don't know what I'm going to do, I just wanted to see what other peoples thoughts are.
|
leukybear beat me to it ha. So would you go from a bianchi pista to a pake? I'm not looking for an expensive frame. I was also thinking maybe the leader 722ts. A more expensive frame can come later on down the line.
|
Get the Heritage if you're going for the 722. I love those indented seat tubes.
You guys are right about brand recognition. I didn't even think about that. |
A realization I made. My cdale fixie; should I post a picture of it? :p
