definitely more time on than off, i have no friends so once i start rolling i stay rolling for a few hrs, just snack/water breaks
i could keep some regular shoes in my locker at work for commuting actually, dunno why i havent thought of that is the learning curve from clipless any different between spd or sl? since clipless are pretty much one sided pedals anyway im thinking mtb pedals might be more more different than anything its funny, before i started riding fg i was so paranoid of having my feet attached to the pedals, now all i want is my feet welded onto the damn things |
If anything sl/look style pedals are easier to get into because they generally always tilt up. SPD pedals usually clip in on either side and sometimes take a little hunting around to get the clip in. Neither of them take much practice though.

It's 94 f, 103 heat index. I have to log into work in an hour and a half. I'm 52 years old. Should I ride, or change my rear tube so both tubes are presta's? Should I drop $100 on lights so I can ride the MUP at 1 A.M. after work when it's cooler? Actually I shoulda gotten my butt out of bed at sunrise and rode. *sigh*
|
You should change the rear tube for sure. Get up early tomorrow.
|
Done. This time I lined up the tire decal with the valve stem. And just checked the temp - it's up to 97 / 107.

High-vis green, yes. Our favorite hashtag would be proud. Not so sure about the white.

Is it generally okay to cat 6 the bike cops? They are always going like 10mph and I'm generally closer to 30 but I for some reason am worried that they are going to look at me from behind and see I don't have a rear brake and ask me to stop. Plus, even though there aren't any signs posted I'm pretty sure the speed limit on the trail is 15mph. I guess I could always pretend I didn't hear them but then I'm afraid they'll radio ahead to someone. Am I being paranoid?
|
you're being paranoid.

The green would be sweet on that ride, and the white would look alright on that ride. For a couple days. Then it would get dirty. At least if it were mine it would. I'm kinda careless though. I'll be working on the bike and adjusting things and getting greasy and then I end up touching the bars... my wraps typically look good for about a week. Tops. That's why I just went ahead and bought black this time. |

http://farm7.staticflickr.com/6229/6...56783b5e_z.jpg Untitled by kazbo, on Flickr It came with black, I had Celeste cork tape that got dirty too fast. Now it has shiny red microtek but I don't like it. The white lizardskins seems like it would clean up better than cork, and there's white detail on my saddle so I thought it might match. I dunno. |
I thought you were gonna get that metallic gold tape we saw a few months ago. Or was that for Pikachu?

Well I was thinking of a mostly black tape but with some little gold metallic flecks/sprinkles/flakes, but I can't seem to find anything like that.
Hmm... what about the zebra stripes? http://www.universalcycles.com/shopp...8&category=834 |
