new rush or old? that's a nice deal

@city: They're essentially the same weight, so whichever tickles your fancy. I'd vote scrods if they were both NMSW

I would just leave them as is.... they're just gonna get scratched up again if you really ride your bike unlike your friend.

Velocity rims are considered the best bang/buck by a lot of people.

weight is similar. i was just wondering if the velocity rims, sapim spokes, and novatec hubs were worth the price difference over the wabi joytech hubs, jalco rims and no name spokes. im more familiar with the RG brands.
its only an $80 difference and would prefer to give scrod my money. Probably going with scrods just wanted a second opinion

@city: if $80 is NBD to you, I'd get scrod's fo'sho. I'd rather have those spokes and rims, kinda feel like the hubs are a wash

oh haha I got you two confused for a second.

Easiest way to tell old from new is the decals and the dropouts. The new Rush has sexy ass tange dropouts

Should I get my friend's used 2008 Cannondale Capo for a "first" bike for my younger brother? His first bike was stolen and he might be more enthusiastic about riding fixed gear.

that or an older Cannondale roadie

vs

both are 56ish

The Capo is nice, but I have a soft spot for those old Cannondales with the cantilever drop outs.

Have a seat.

Mommies and daddies love each other. Sometimes mommies and daddies show each other how much we love each other in different ways than we show you guys...

[insert awkward conversation]

...and that's why you and your brother look a lot alike.

It's all a matter of jeans. The right jeans can make you skinny or baggy or have a ridiculous inseam in this case.

He's 16 almost 6' tall. He's skinny/narrow as hell though, about 120lbs. I could never be 120, at 180 I looked like a skeleton. Anyway, it looks like the roadie it is. We're going to look at it with my dad, who will be paying. This is mostly an effort to be a more involved brother and to give him something to do other than hang out with some less than decent friends.

Should I buy some laminated single straps? Campy, MKS, or Toshi?

My current leather ones are falling apart.
