Crank Removal

Forgive me if this is a stupid question.

I just bought an old bike that I'm trying to restore (but I can't identify what brand it is), and I'm trying to pull the crank off. However, there are no bolts in the crank arms, so I can't even get them off! Below are a few pictures of the crank/crank arms. I need help getting these suckers off and if anyone could help me, it would surely be appreciated!

They're one piece cranks. Do some googleing, you'll be alright.

To loosen the nut, turn it to the RIGHT. It's reverse threaded to keep it from spinning off when you pedal. There should be a cone nut behind the surface nut/plate that should have slots in it that you can turn with a flat-head screwdriver.

The other side has regular threads, so if you want to remove the chainring, you need to turn the cone nut on that side to the left to loosen it.
