Aha human fashion models aren't so nice under the paint as well.

I still think it looks janky. I know it was the reality, I just don't get why.

Guess I just don't understand why it took so long for someone to make TT-specific reverse brake levers. It's not like they weren't already fabricating an entire frame, and handlebars specifically for the task. Just seems like the thought would have entered someone's head at some point...
"Hey, there's no reason for us to be using regular old aero hoods. Let's just make some cooler looking ones."

Inverse brake levers were widely available on city bikes in Europe beginning in the early 1950s at least. It took several more decades for TT riders to catch on to their utility.

These have to be collectors, right? Wouldn't someone with a budget like this 'know better' for riding purposes?

Yeah, but I don't think the guy selling it is a collector. If he was, he would have at least cleaned the bike before taking photos. And he wouldn't have propped it on the bare ground like that.

Hothead286 08-13-11 01:32 AM

*sigh* Probably not.

Also, fork has been drilled. No street cred there.

I'm not sure if it's just reflections, but to me it looks like the headtube-toptube joint is cracked, or the Bondo is letting loose.

1 previously "state-of-the-art" bike for the cost of 4 or 5 high end modern bikes? doesnotcompute. I'd much rather get a fixed gear, road bike, mountain bike and a touring machine for that type of money. Prolly have enough left over afterwords to take some sweet trips to enjoy them too.

Never underestimate the structural integrity of bondo! very advanced "composite" constuction that.

I think everyone is just jealous that they,(unlike those buyers) have more sense than money.
