Rebuilt Mercier Kilo
This is a build I did based off an old Mercier Kilo my roommate had lying around. I stripped it down, repainted it, and built it up as a delivery bike/foul weather commuter. It's hard to tell from the pic but it's a forest green with brown and tan accents...inspired by old British cruisers and three speeds. It gets used as my main workhorse for running stuff around town, or to cruise about for coffee or groceries. The paint has taken a beating from daily lockings, leanings, and scrapes, but it has ended up as a utilitarian look that I really dig. Picture props to www.trianglefixies.com.
Notable features:
Charge seat and bar tape provide authentic looks for a great price. I use the Spoon on all of my bikes, hands down the best saddle I have ever used for under fifty bucks.
Origin 8 cupholder holds coffee for my morning commute, or drinks for thirsty customers. Ever tried biking with a fountain drink? It sucks.
Crud Products RoadRacer fenders are essential. They are the only thing I could find that would fit the tight track geometry, but function wonderfully in keeping my feet and ass dry during nasty weather.
Cranks and bottom bracket are stock, other drivetrain parts are mostly SRAM. Alex R500s got rebuilt and transferred from an older bike. Planning on adding bar end brake levers so I can add a back brake and run it as a single speed if the mood strikes.
What do you guys think?

Looks awesome, and I dig the photography as well. I've thought about eventually getting fenders on my Kilo, so I'll definitely be taking those Crud ones into account.

Painfully average.
Nice, but next time, just post it in the Kilo TT thread: https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...s-Thread-(2011).

I dig it. Personally I wouldn't have put the TT protector on but at least its not some ridiculous one from a sw8 fixaaayy. But I do love the look of whole bike, nice job.

The TT pad wasn't originally part of the plan, but I quickly realized I needed something to protect the paint, which was being stripped away by street signs, fence posts, and my lock. It provides a nice thing to rest on my shoulder though, as I often have to carry my bike (live upstairs). Its worth the trade off of losing a little classiness.
Thanks for the compliments guys! It's not flashy or hip but it gets me around reliably and that is all I can ask of it.

Bar tape is actually Charge brand "U-Bend" bar tape...it's synthetic leather, much like the saddle. Less worry and far cheaper. However, it's very stiff and doesn't allow much for cushioning, my palms get pretty sore even with gloves...I'm going to re-wrap it with some padding underneath when I add the bar-end levers.
