Oh yeah, and get yourself a chainring bolt spanner and a tube of loctite. Tighten those crappy chainring bolts right the first time, and you won't have to keep doing it over and over.

I think the first solution is ambiguous--it shows a stripped axle but talks about a stripped hub--confusing for newbs.

HOWEVER.... If somebody does have a good picture of a stripped hub I'll swap it into the graphic

You'd be surprised how little it takes to keep people from putting two and two together. That said, your graphic is helpful.
Most newbs can't tell an axle from an allen key, though. It seems like every other thread is either about cogular slippage or what bike someone should buy. It's weird that reading is the least popular activity on the internet, which is full of words.

on a more serious side this is the list I carry with me whenever I go outside:
- Pump (hate CO2, mine is a Topeak Road Morph G - has a gauge so you can pump to whatever PSI you need, goes up to 160 PSI, the foot pad is awesome, light and small and works with Presta/ Schrader/ Dunlop valves).
- Lock (I use a mid security u-lock, my city doesn't need something like the NY Fahgettaboudit)
- Oh noes kit (tire lever, patch kit, 1 extra tube)
- Multi tool (insert fith element joke here, mine is a Topeak Alien II)
- Small Adjustable Wrench, this way you can carry just one wrench to service your bike when needed
