This is the only forum where members actually try to hurt themselves.
I think there is a body modification forums out there. IE tatoos piercings, that reminds me, isn't there a tatoo/pierecing thread?
I thought you had to be tattooed or pierced to ride fixed?
well i didnt want to pierce my self, but i once stapled my thumb and got a fish hook stuck on my hand... so does that count? ^^^ i'll send u some sharpies :D
sub forum for the less hardcore. being able to see your arms is like running a brake!
I honestly dont know what I was thinking. I had a front brake, and was using it. (sorry I left these details out, meds are making me very spacey today). I dont know what happened fully because I do not remember. I'm going to ask a friend of mine who was riding with me. Ill update soon. As of now though, all that I am dealing with is some neck pain, and lack of being able to stay asleep.

http://i948.photobucket.com/albums/a...0/IMG_4399.jpg I was riding my Kilo TT which had a brake on it. I have to fix the front chain ring on this ^ bike cause it it too hard to pedal with it. 52/16 is too much for me. |

I don't know if your looking for pity or not, because I don't feel bad for you at all, but it's nice to see that you're not too badly injured.
You did some pretty stupid ****ing **** and payed for it. Lucky you're not ****ing dead. I mean, did you really think it would be a good idea to take a fixed gear bike, bomb down a hill with no brakes, and in addition take your feet off the pedals, your only means of stopping? Helmet or not, that sounds pretty damn stupid to me. |

which IME takes ALOT OF FRIGGIN TIME.
c-spine OK or not.. THOSE NECK BRACES SUK those giant cutting boards they keep you on for a long time too, also suck |
Moral of the story: I'm buying a helmet for when I ride from now on. lol
Well, it should be more than just the helmet because the helmet can't protect you from a lot. Hell, when I was hit by a car I received a concussion and lacerations, because the helmet shattered, while the rest of my body was just bruised and scraped.

hairnet - your helmet may have shattered but think about what would have happened if it wasn't there to take the brunt of the impact.
