Running "single" straps in "double" cages

Ok, here's the deal. I got MKS GR-9s with Origin double straps running through Soma doubles. Because my feet are on the small side I've almost got the straps pulled all the way through, but where the two straps meet the side piece where the buckles are it won't allow me to go any tighter, and the straps keep loosening. I was thinking of cutting the straps so that the "joint" is further in, but don't really want to....I think it could cause issues with how long they'll last. SO...I"m thinking of running two pairs of single straps in my double cages. Has anyone tried this without issues?

I need to know, considering having to tighten my straps on EVERY ride is getting a bit of a hassle. I'm serious, even stopping to get something from a store and I come out, straps are loose. It's very annoying...

I'm running one single in a double cage and it works fine. Soooo, maybe? I don't think it's the Origin parts being cruddy, as they're usually good enough for what you're paying for em.

Of course you can use two sets of single straps in double clips. Why wouldn't you be able to?

highonpez...it's not that the part is cruddy, it's just where the "side" splits into the two straps isn't deep enough and it doesn't allow me to have them tightened properly.

Scrod...I guess that's what I'll do...I just wanted to double check with the gurus first.
