Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

my neighbor is getting rid of his singlespeed and he's telling me it's a '91 ugo de rosa but it's been spray painted. can someone please help identify this frame for me? how much is this bike worth? he's selling it for $170

parts on the bike:
- cloud 9 seat
- origin 8 stem
- origin 8 brake levers
- origin 8 crank arms
- origin 8 pedals
- velocity wheelset
- tektro brakes

if you need more pictures please let me know.

I have a feeling you'll get better answers about the frame if you post in the 'Classic & Vintage' forum. Those guys know their stuff.

The lugs are nice. It seems like a pretty good deal to me. You probably can't get a much better deal for that price range. Does it fit you? For that price new you could only get a wallyworld Thruster.

That's pretty much why I'm interested in it. All the components/parts are in near new condition as well. Wheelers is in 10/10 condition

The rear wheel is not slammed into the downtube: you might loose some of that elusive street cred. You might recover some of it back by having money to buy PBRs however

College-like budget beer. Gets a lot of association with hipsters, but, dammit, being a broke student doesn't allow for much else. Ya know?

Sounds like a great deal. You'd be hard-pressed to find a new SS bike at that price that isn't utter crap, and this bike looks fine.

No prob. Most people who drink Natty aren't even old enough to buy it.
