Just had a bottle of Stone Vertical Epic and Lost Abbey avant garde with the bro. Feeling nice and buzzed, the vertical epic is no joke.

It's a good beer, but I think its reputation is built on exclusivity rather than quality.

Friends birthday party tonight, I'll be drinking Jameson and lemonade instead of cola. No more pop for me because of new years resolution.

I figure that if you need to add soda pop to your whiskey that you aren't ready for good whiskey... I like my Jamesons straight up or mixed into a Celtic Cross.

One exception is rye whiskey and a little ginger ale...

But Jameson isn't good whiskey. It's ok whiskey. Good for a shot, or a whiskey ginger.

And you probably cheer for the bears too. :)

Jameson's is a perfectly fine whiskey... on that note it will be what I am drinking this evening.

My FIL always liked his Jim Beam... nothing fancy or trendy for that guy and I also like this in a whiskey.

Ok, I am not a sports person. The last sporting event I watched (non-cycling) was last year's Super Bowl, and even that I couldn't tell you who played.

Anyhow, good whiskey distilleries/brands: Glenmorangie, Yamazaki (if you can find/afford the 1984, it is life-changing), Very Old Barton, Pappy Van Winkle, Blanton's, Bulliet, High West, Few, Bushmill's (some, but not most), Maker's Mark 46... I could go on forever.

That Bulleit looks promising... gets great reviews.

Last new bourbon I bought was Rowan's Creek.
Ridiculously good for the price. I paid $35 I think.
The 100 proof doesn't hurt either.

Whiskey and lemonade? I've done rum and pink lemonade and it was pretty good, but I can't picture whiskey.

There are some spirits I would avoid mixing with, unless I was nice and buzzed and didn't give a damn. Cheap stuff - mix away, but the good stuff should be enjoyed by itself.

Had plenty to drink today, went to an all you can drink place to watch the game with my bro. Threw back a bunch of draft Blue Moon and Newcastle.

I like Jameson cuz it costs $18 for the big bottle on campus.

Glenlivet is aight but I don't like scotch in general.

I do like bourbon, though. Woodford Reserve is one of my favorites.

I don't get why people like Guinness so much. It's one of my least favorite beers ever.

to me, its one of the few beers that doesnt look and taste like pisswater, i dont really like beer in general

Guinness is wonderful stuff... and would agree that whiskey and lemon is a great combination.

i look as Guinness as a food, a thing unto itself. breakfast, lunch or dinner. as versatile as bread.

Not a Guinness fan. I love stouts, but I do not like Guinness. I've never had the kind that's actually made in Ireland, though.

Yes, pretty much me as well. Left Hand Milk Stout was my first favorite beer.

i think my favorite stout is Rasputin (russian imperial), but Guinness is a staple.
