Blue Moon Valencia Grove Amber.

I'm a sucker for seasonal variety packs, like Sam Adams and Blue Moon. Sam Adams Holiday Porter and Chocolate Stout are both very good.

This Blue Moon is pretty good for what it is. Also a fan of their white ale.

Dark Horizon (16% Norwegian stout) and a perfectly cooked grass fed ribeye always bring out the Viking in me

I'm fairly certain that Nogne Ø has never made a beer I haven't loved.

got a cold. so it's some herbal tea with a shot of Old Overholt (rye whiskey issued to the Navy in WW2 and reportedly the preferred brand of Doc Holiday).

Blue Moon with a slice of orange. Working on that variety pack.

Gonna take the other regular ones to my friend's tomorrow to jam, so I can drink the special ones at home...shhhhh

Sixty Fiver 01-26-13 12:54 AM

I have some really nice friends... :)

Would have to say that the Indian continent has produced an amazing whiskey that simply delights you from beginning to end and simply begs for curry and spices to accompany it.

My go to drink of late has been our own Alberta Springs 10 year old straight rye... will have to check into this.

nothing exciting, but a reliable/enduring/strangely satisfying bottom shelf standard. referred to as "Old Overcoat". originally produced in Pennsylvania, now owned by the Beam collective.

I like reliable and enduring... if you get across the border and can find Alberta Springs it will be money well spent as it is a middle shelf offering that really belongs on the top shelf. Cost is $27.00 here but prices vary by province due to different taxation rates.

The Amrut I was sampling last night is definitely top shelf and will be saving that bottle for special occasions... splendid stuff but not what I would normally buy due to the expense.

+1

I like my coffee, how I like my men, strong & black.

Earl Gray

Street rider 01-26-13 03:33 PM

Currently flavored sparkling water (cheap at aldi). Last night I had the worlds most expensive PBR at the bar attached to the shows venue. ****ing $5 each. Outrageous.

seau grateau 01-26-13 03:45 PM

Been there. Everything is overpriced at LA bars. On the flipside, grocery store booze is wonderfully cheap (compared to PA at least).

That was the most expensive bar I've been to yet. And as it got later, and the start of the show nearer, they slowly jacked up their prices. And then after it was over, about midnight, they started lowering them again a little.

Everything is overpriced at bars period, compared to if you just buy it and drink at home.

But...there's a new AYCD place in K-town. That ain't overpriced, haha.

For liquor, I usually go to the hispanic market or Bevmo. I've never seen Courvoisier or JW Black for $20 anywhere else, but they sell it for $17 sometimes at the hispanic market. Kind of ironic.

will do. some of the guys i fight with are from Canuckistan (laughed real hard first time they said that one). i'll put the word out that i need a hook up. locally the Canadian whiskey selection is total -crap-.
