Young's Double Chocolate Stout

Dark black, nice effervesence two fingered head in appearance
Dark malt, slight chocolate, some coffee initial flavor
Chocolate, some coffee, strong dark maltiness, slight bitter hoppiness taste
Creamy texture, goes down smooth mouthfeel
Very enjoyable chocolate stout overall

if you enjoyed that try rogues double chocolate stout or red foxs russian imperial stout. Both very tasty.

and as for me, nothing as ive been cutting back on booze altogether to save money, only a few drinks a week if that now.

Six pack of IBC.
Four pack of Lemon IZZE. Limited Edition FTW.

I need to take it easy today. The last two days have been filled with this stuff from afternoon to 2AM:

Corona with limes
Harp lager
Black and tans with Murphy's stout
Patron silver
Grey Goose (overrated, but so cheap I had to get a bottle)
Strawberry daiquiris
Rogue Dead Guy ale
503 Pinot Noir

I think it's easily a personal record in terms of amount and variety consumed.

really nice. smooth but with a little heat/bite from the 5% rye. too nice to mix. perfect for sipping with friends along with some quality beers.

Earlier this week I had the pleasure of Brooklyn's Black Chocolate Stout. It was a mini-vertical tasting, 2011 and 2012... if you're into it get a few extras to lay down... 10% abv

My go-to bourbon, and i'm a snob. Their rye is good, too.

when i get around to spending money on some booze ill give it a try, im not picky and i drink beam on the rocks, straight or with ginger.
not as cheap as evans and its what ive drank for years but id definitly like to find myself a nice sipping bourbon.

One of the better beers I've put down. The brewery is about three miles from the house. "Adam" from Hair of the Dog. Stuff always puts out a head like this from the bottle

It's really about substance over price. There are some cheap vodkas like Sobieski and Tito's that are just as good in terms of both taste and buzz as the popular brands. Reading up on blogs helps to find some gems.

Ever try Jamesons Irish whiskey ?

It is an essential for any well stocked liquor cabinet and is a very smooth drinking whiskey and can handle a little ice and water without giving up anything. I usually prefer it neat or mixed with a little Drambuie to make a Celtic Cross.

GENESTARWIND 11-27-12 02:41 AM

jamesons is ok.. nothing special to me really.

id rather drink glenlivet

maidenfan 11-27-12 10:46 AM

Imo, the best bang for the buck in Irish whiskey is the 12 year old Redbreast.

I recently sipped a glass of their 18 special reserve - pretty tasty.

I never would have guessed you drink.

eja_ bottecchia 11-27-12 11:17 AM

Twenty-one year old Scotch.

In the absence of that, Belgian beer, preferably Lucifer Strong Pale Ale.
