what do you think of Troeg's Perpetual IPA? I had some back home in PA last week and found it good, but a little malty for my taste.

keystone light baby.
the other day baltika dark lager. before that baltikas porter and the lager was waay better. their porter sucks. I guess i can throw in the pint of jim the other day and a bunch of crown too. |
Tonight I had a couple of 21st Amendment Brew Free or Die IPA's with my ramen. Probably the best ramen i've had (as good or better than mumofuko). This fine dining joint i know serves ramen late night after they shut down dinner service. its good ****

Just getting to add my latest DIPA favorites, and the Alchemy Hour is one of them. I grew up in CLE(hts) drinking GLBC and am glad to have them in it big time, and in my local market (RDU) finally. Look for Lake Erie Monster as well. Others on the latest list: Smuttynose Big A - their standard IPA is weak, imho...but the Big A is a stand-out. Sierra Bigfoot - labelled barleywine, this one is just a little sweet and way hoppy...borderline DIPA in my book. And of course, the one by which all others are judged...Hopslam. World-class, yes. Worthy of the insane hype? Not so much. Local bottle shop sold 10 cases at $18/6pk, limit one 6pk/person/day...in 4 hours. |

Went to visit a friend I haven't seen in a while and he broke this out. This is the first time I've had the 20y, which I found to be much better than either 23y I've had. The 12y is still my favorite, though.

Sipping on a Leinenkugel Lemon Berry Shandy. Thought it might be too sweet, but it's cool. Still sweet but more beer than hard cider. Pretty damn good in my book, plus one of my favorite book characters drinks Leinies. |
I fell in love with GLBC when i lived in Cincinnati... some really fantastic beers to be had from them.. Nosferatu and Commodore Perry IPA just to name a few...
Fortunate enough to find it here in Illinois too. Alchemy Hour is a winner- stands tall in their offerings. cheers. |
Pei Pa Koa toddies (Nin Jiom herbal cough medicine and Scotch)... blending the best of the east and the west here.
Those bugs will not know what hit them. And must say it is friggin' excellent. |
