At my company holiday party on Friday I did my first bear fight. Which, if you aren't familiar, is an Irish car bomb followed immediately by a Jager bomb.
Don't ask me why, other than to say I did it. I ended up so drunk that I left the party (which started at 2; bearfight was at ~3) at 6:30. Was in bed by 8:30pm and slept for 14 hours, whee. |

Westy V-12 - got two bricks as well, tasted two bottles and the rest go into the cabinet for another year to mellow, still too sweet. Now a nice one ready to drink is that Pannepot Reserva !

I'm sure the monks are thanking you for personally funding their new cloister. How did you get your hands on two cases? Every place I know of had a strict limit and a waiting list.

I miss the good old days, when the bottles were blank, and had to be smuggled back from Belgium in the suitcases of friends. Now that it's readily available in the states, it won't be long until people realize that it's just a good beer, not an amazing, religious experience, and it won't sell for such absurd amounts on ebay.
And the price? Well, chances are wherever you are reading this now there is probably a $5 beer in your local store that I cannot get here but desire enough to pay $35 (or more - Italy/Belgium?) in shipping to get a case of, so it is all relative,... location location location |
I'm tempted to say that Rochefort 10 and Gulden Draak 9000 are better quads.
