Both are great rims. The Deep Vs are a little lighter but it really just depends on which you think look better.

EDIT: Steel mountain bike frame; SuperCycle. I know it's not worth anything, but I'm on a budget and I was hoping to salvage it and rebuild it at a local coop.
Assessing this over the internet without so much as pics, I have no idea.

True. I should probably start taking it apart some time this week. I assume if rust is inside the frame, it's pretty much gone, right?

EDIT: LOL, I'll snap some pictures when I do and I'll inquire again when I do that.

Thanks

Any steel frame - unless it was treated with something like Frame Saver when it was new - will have some degree of rust inside.

I have future questions on my build, I plan on getting the SRAM S300 from your site scrod, and it said that it was a 3/32inch chainring, and my current cog is 1/8th I believe, I'll have it checked out when I get a chance, I was wondering if I could use a 1/8th inch chain and be fine? Another question on that is will the MKS GR-9 work on the crank arms? are they the same thread size?

AND this is probably stupid but I have a spare rear brake caliper from my kilo and was wondering if it could work as a front caliper? they look the same, but I thought id get some clarification first rather than put it on and have it fail on me when i need it most.

I'll probably have more questions later on but, I'm still debating on parts to buy for my leader 725

You'll need to get a longer recessed nut to install a rear brake on your fork.

So I have this bike. Would buying a Surly Conversion kit be the best and cheapest way to convert it over to SS? If I hunt down deals I think I can get it under $150, is there an alternative?

If you're going to use one Aerospoke, it goes in the front.

Another question, for the leader 725, which Carbon fork is better? the leader one on your site? or the alpina f04?

Is an aluminum fork any good? I'd like to be able to build up my bike soon, but a carbon fork seems a little expensive during my build up.

And which one would you recommend? I know that for leader 725 I should have about 30mm rake.

Do you want a good bike or a cheap one? Aluminum forks suck.

As I said, pick the fork you like better. Keep in mind that the Alpina isn't drilled for a brake.

I do like the alpina better, it looks nicer in my opinion but youre right that its not drilled for a brake so I'm kind of in a jam because of that. I was thinking of going with a leader aluminum fork and having the alpina as a second fork, but I'll give it some more thought, I just got my frame so im broke because of that.

Take the other one out, bring it to a hardware store and find one that matches.

What's so bad about Pake forks?

I remember you mentioning that you don't enjoy Pake forks recently. What's bad about them? Heavy? Harsh? All that and more?

Last year I got a steel bike that had spent just over 3 years outdoors. It took a lot of work to get it going again but after I did I put about a thousand miles on it before selling.

They're heavy and have an ugly, bulky unicrown.

Negative Ghost-Rider!
ive noticed that ppl with them in the front dont get laid as often as those individuals with them in the back..lol
honestly, aerospokes for me are all for looks, and i just find it more appealing to have one on the back.
logically yes, your right, lighter wheel on the rear and heavier wheel up front.

but ima pick up a few stickers from you soon, for sure your logo to rep ya', ssfg, olr, and ill get maybe one more like the sheldon.
