Im pretty sure a lot of the angle comments were because of the angle I had to take the pic in. There isnt much room in my garage. |
priority one is getting your seat right. most people are erring on the side of being too steep here, notably the cinellis by quite a margin but not only them. then, the reach has to be right for you. most err on the side of way too short and way too low. it should be long with two or three inches of drop. four plus only if you are tall tall and because even huge head tubes and stems can be lacking. with the right frame, this setup will come fairly easily and work with the frame to ride well. if you have speed in mind, this basically necessitates 100mm plus stem, how much plus depends on your height on the spectrum, and some bars with forward reach. if youre not about speed, dont sweat. if your not about this whole jazz, dont sweat.

the nonsuede fizik is markedly more durable, but if it works for you, that trumps. the best picture is going to be with maximum zoom in from way far back.
to clarify, your hoods should mount closer to the tops and the bars should be rotated down. |

I'm no expert on fit, but i find the stem is too short thing relative, same goes for saddle too far forward. The saddle slammed forward w/ a 80mm stem and 6"+ of drop is kinda extreme....but what if you're like me and have the legs of a 6'1-6'2 person and im 5'10. Besides looking for frames that will allow a better fit and at most, you'll get a 57 ST and 55 TT. Other than that, running a stem over 90mm for me is pretty damn stretched out. Yes, you could bring the stem up and closer, but then i feel like I'm riding a damn beach cruiser.
what does one do? |

I'm on the extreme side of things. My geared bike with the large saddle/bar drop is more comfortable for me than the taller longer fixed gear. Not many 62cm bikes will come with a 61cm+ top tube, so I go with the 130mm stem + 610mm TT. fits like a glove

nonlaminated straps are going to stretch pretty quickly. toshi makes suitable white ones. those bars are not the setup thats going to work best for a majority of the time, but as long as you like it, go forth and mash.

to clarify, your hoods should mount closer to the tops and the bars should be rotated down. Hoods shouldnt be level with the tops of the bars? Cuz on the road forum, most have the tops of the hoods and the tops of the bars parallel. although my bars are pointed a little down... i dont have enough reach, and pointing them down somewhat compensated for that. I need a new stem |

He's gonna like your stem length
