I gotta t-shirt with my bag from UTW with the faceplant shot! Check it out, Ouch!

All original artwork by the designer of the bags, I was looking at the site everyday while waiting for my bag when I saw the t-shirts HAD to email and add one to my order. It was tough deciding which one though, they have two fixed gear themed shirts

I did this on my fixie on my way home from work a few months ago... three days before my brother's wedding.

Granted, I'm not on my bike in the pic, but since you asked, and since face plants are the greatest thing ever, here you go:

a buddy of mine trying to ride home from my house after an 8 hour night at the bar...
he was barely consious in the first two... i had to keep slapping him to get him to open his eyes...
the last one shows the blood stain on the street the next day (tho not very well)

*edit*
the swelling the next day:

A skid gone bad. He saved the face, but his hip was beat up pretty good.

Last pic is great... looks like he's trying to work on his rear hub.

Not sure if it's the swelling, the road rash or the 8 hours spent in the bar... but your buddy looks like he has an I.Q. of roughly 54.

all of the above?

the darker patch of street in the bottom center (of the stain pic) is from where the 40 he was holding at the time shattered...

and the gaping mouth is cuz he was unable to close it... he was unconcious for about 5 minutes before i took over and started keeping him awake... we almost dragged him to the hospital...

man drinking's fun...

Nice roll. A good time series to show people how to fall if you can't use the bike to bear the brunt of it. Contrast that with Jesse M's post of the bird man about to land with arms outstretched. A good way to dislocate a shoulder.

Galley, hope you're buddy is OK. Nice second shot showing the point of impact on the road next to his head...

Looks more like he's trying to break the bikes fall with himself.

That's a big guy to be skidding, good on him! Most of the folks in the skid comps I see are shorter, skinnier or both.

I just now tried drawing a fantastic faceplant that followed t-boning another bike on the lake path in Chicago. I am sad to report that the results are dismal. Imagine this, though, in leiu of a photo or drawing. I was going out around a contractor's truck parked on the right side of the path. Everything looked clear, until a guy I'm guesing about 16 y/o comes out from behind the truck, turning to go the opposite way I was going. There was really only enough time for both of us to say a foul word of our choice before I hit him perpendicularly, my front end versus his. I catapulted over my bars, managed to roll like they taught you in gym class, and wound up practically standing. Initially, anyway, as I was soon back on my knees trying to reinflate my lungs. My bike was perfect. His front wheel was totaled. MInimal bloodshed on both sides. Oh what I'd give for a video clip of this...

Here's one. The bike's not fixed, but I bet he wasn't contemplating his gearing just then.

Bikes: I built the Bianchi track bike back up today.

Kind of hard to tell from the shot, but I hope he got to land in the water...
