I have the DVS "keirin" convict shoes and they are my preferred shoe when not riding clipless. I've worn them almost daily for about five months and they are still in excellent shape. Not very different from any other skate shoe, though. I only got them cus the blue ones match my Nitto cap. No complaints, but again, nothing special. They do offer more comfort and padding than Vans, without being ridiculously plump like Osiris or something. Same exact price as Samba's but the sole is not as stiff. In my opinion it is just a matter of preference.
Btw I use leather Hold Fast-style foot straps, not clips/straps.

Still kicking.
No, I do not wear DVS shoes. On the trackbike or road bike Specialized Elite Roadshoes. DJ, DC.

I don't use my DVS's. I don't like the way they look really. I may get the chrome shoes, but I've heard mixed reviews.

A buddy of mine busted the zippers on 3 consecutive pairs of Chrome hi-tops. I personally wear Vans slip-ons, Adidas Sambas, or Converse All-Stars.

I've got a pair of DZR Districts that are comfortable and ride really well, but they kinda fell apart pretty quick. The guys from the company have been pretty good, though, and there's a new pair on the way. Hopefully these stay in one piece.
