Too legit or must quit?
Found something confusing on the 'bay, need some expert advice. Take a peek at:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Cannondale-C...8#ht_2910wt_81 Underneath the baskets, kick back hub and flat bars is a decent track bike, no? What do you guys think, is it worth persuing as a street bike? |
Looks like a pretty sweet bike all around. Probably not an ideal track bike, but a great commuter/street bike. I'd ride it.
|
this should go without saying, but ride it first if you can.
|
The price is pretty steep for a second hand bike...
|
A C'Dale capo does not equal a Cannondale track

I'd hit that, but not at , or anywhere near that price.
It looks like a pretty practical city bike. I'd not seen those new fangled s/a hubs till now, kickshift ! Pretty neat , wonder if it works well or is just a bit gimmicky. |

I didn't look at the price at first. Price definitely seems steep.

SRAM recently released its own 2-speed hub, but it uses an automatic shifting mechanism. It's too new to tell how well it works yet. |

http://www.swobo.com/images/catalog/...3_1%20zoom.jpg I have to say, I would like it more if it wasn't a coaster brake, but it did feel pretty solid. I would imagine it to work like a set of ball bearings that when traveling at ~13mph would trigger the next gear. I would love to be able to change at what point it engages, but I don't know if that is possible. All-in-all if the price was the same, I'd go for it! |
everyone knows you only use ebay to buy NOS parts at a premium
|
Thanks for the feedback guys. I decided to go in a different direction.

Are you aware that your abbreviated "the 'bay" uses twice the characters (8) as the proper noun "eBay" (4)?
