Circus gears
Can't seem to find any relevant information.
But these bikes are fixed gear, so worth a shot here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NEdhc86i4Fc Any idea what those gear ratios would be? |
Most of the ones I've seen go for right around 1:1.

Oh so it was called artistic cycling.
No wonder. Kept searching "circus bike acts" Thanks I think I can do more research now and 1:1 gear ratios.... time to get uber small chainrings. </thread> |
One of the best artistic cycling videos I've seen. |
Those Germans pretty much dominate!
Tried to find a nice big pic of a bike, but this is the best I could find,a pretty good shot of one of Ines Brunn's bikes. Upside-down steel road bars. Zero Rake fork. And I reckon that must be a unicycle saddle. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2169/...418dd6729f.jpg |
*mind blown*

i have NO doubt that those bars and saddle (and everything else) are MADE for artistic cycling, not pulled out of some parts bin at their local co-op.
These are still possible ideas for a beginner-in-America's first AC bike build. |
Those saddles are designed to be mounted on a beam type post for greater fore/aft adjustment, but i guess the biggest obstacle for a diy is the 0mm rake fork and steep HT angle for tight turning while tracking solid.
